OK, I have hopefully locked down how the participants for next week’s Rockland County Championship will be determined in the event of a tie:
1. Head to head
2. Overall record
3. Common opponents
This will become a factor if Tappan Zee can beat Spring Valley on Monday because it would give both two league losses. However, the Tigers would probably finish the season with the better overall record.
It still looks like Spring Valley will face North Rockland next Saturday for the Rockland County Championship.

Is this Championship game part of the 18 game schedule?
If so, how does TZ find an 18th ganme if they don’t get tp Rockland Championship?
All Rockland teams scheduled 17 games. A matchup with a team from the other league is game No. 18. Second place plays second place, third place plays third place and so on. One leftover team from the small-school league will play Irvington.
TZ still has to get through Albertus tomorrow night to have a chance at the Championship game. It won’t be easy. Albertus got blown out by TZ earlier in the year but it is very difficult to beat a rival team twice in the same year. Just ask Nanuet who handled Albertus the first time they played and then was beaten soundly the second time. I’m looking forward to the game.

It’s not really a tournament. Its just the top teams in each league playing each other and they call it the Rockland County Championship. Because Rockland is so small I think it makes sense for them to do this. Its a fun thing for the kids that may not get to play in the championship game of the sections.

Thank you for the plug on the Rockland County Championship Games on Saturday, Feb. 6th. Prior to Realignment, both the Boys & Girls Championships Games here in Rockland drew huge crowds.
I also compliment you on the superb job that you have performed taking over the J-N coverage for both Boys & Girls Hoops in Section One since Kevin left to go to MSG Varsity.

There really should be a county tournament. I coach in Jersey and they have the Bergen Jamboree. Its a great tournament and every team has a chance to be eligible.
Doesn’t Albertus already have 18 games? How can they be in this? And who is Nanuet going to play?
