  13. jacket

    any updates?

  14. fan

I don’t know whats wrong with Section 1 and not letting the games be shown online. A good amount of people who follow these blogs logistically can’t go to the games.

  15. jeez

    Bronxville,

You’re being really rude and are embarrassing Bronxville. I’m a high school graduate from Bronxville and really think that even though Tralli is on Croton, we should treat him with respect… it’s a high school game. Section 1… any updates for us staring at the computer waiting for something interesting???

  16. Sec1

Bronx 35 Croton 20 8:38 in 3rd Murray on the TD run

  17. no name

croton shouldnt even b therit should dobbs rite now and they would be beating up on bronxille

  18. This one is over

    This one is over.

  19. joe b

no name if Dobbs beat Croton they would be there. Apparently they couldn’t beat Croton so don’t even make a stupid statement like that.

  20. Sec1

    Bronx 35 Croton 20 end of 3rd

  21. no name

ok joe b they should b there if it wasnt for the bs call by the payed refs…. mb u should have seen the game before u open ur mouth joe b…plus dobbs out played croton and was the better team that day

  22. fan

no name, bronxville also beat dobbs during the regular season, so I wouldn’t speculate that they would “beat up” on bronxville

  23. please stop

Kevin, how do you ensure the entries on this blog meet your conditions? People are supposed to adhere to these conditions, one of which is to not use vulgar comments. “Bronxville” has offended a very good athlete as well as anyone interested in reading YOUR blog. What a shame.

  24. croton ref

dobbs should b there no doubt in my mind they where the better team and joe b u should listen to no name i was at that game and they out played croton and they have way more heart then them and they have more heart then bronxville and i think they would have came out on top today if they were here playing croton does not deserve to b there at all i no dobbs has more heart then both these teams and would have gone to the dome if it wasnt for the bs call 10min after the play was done and devonte brailsford scored the TD that sealed the win that would have put dobbs to mahopac and then the dome and if u ask anyone there people would say croton was out played in everyway and SOOO LUCKY

  25. Fan

Please stop, I think Kevin is busy covering games. Stop being a crybaby and deal w/ it..

  26. no name

thats whe dobbs was struggling but as they season went they got better every game and it would have been a better game then croton v.s. bronxville because dobbs was staring roll and they would have came out on top today if they were there

  27. 4th quarter

    yeah!!! one more quarter

  28. jeez

And they’re not, so please stop whining about it and enjoy the game. You can’t go back in time and change the game so just enjoy the game that’s happening.

  29. joe b

no name & croton ref. WHO WON ? Always blame the ref. The best team doesn’t always win. Croton has beaten Dobbs 2 years in a row. Evertybody is entitled to their opinion. But Dobbs lost to both teams. So why should they be there ?

  30. Broncos

Bronxville would have eaten them alive shut ur mouth. they are eating croton up right now! Bronxville Broncos Sectional Champions!

  31. Sec1

    Bronx 35 Croton 20 Final.

Bronxville very solid team should do well in States.. Croton very good season..

  32. Husky 92

Dont you guys know, That NO NAME is just being a jerk and he is probably in the 10th grade rousing you guys.

  33. OK...

Congrats to Bronxville, good luck in the states.. On to important stuff HOOPS, who wins class B and class C this year. I say P’ville and Valhalla… What say you?

  34. Hoops

Yeah!!! what are the predictions for basketball! Class B?

  35. please stop

Fan, I wouldn’t expect Kevin to stop game coverage NOW. But he has to figure out how to get a grip on what’s happened to this blog this year (go back to his own “sprialing out of control” entry). Too many people are hiding behind the anonymity of these blog entries and are being beyond nasty, being vulgar, and are just plain mean. Teenage athletes are being raked across the coals, and for what? So some “fan” can say they are exercising their freedom of speech? It’s a shame.

  36. This one is over

    Bronxville was dominate

  37. Yeah.

    over

  38. tusker99

word i that dobbs coach was fired over the weekend due to pressure from the public and players. Also heard that several area coaches are interested in the dobbs job.

  39. section 1

Husky 92 you act like a moron and your aren’t in 10th grade so what is your excuse? Oh and thanks for the heads up on the other blogger..no one could figure that out. You are brilliant..NOT!

  40. capt hook

is it confirmed that the dobbs coach got fired?

  41. observer

Bronxville should coast all the way to the Dome. That is the biggest Class C team I have ever seen. Good fight put up by Croton-Harmon, but my lord…that team is enormous.

  42. DMAN

I agree completely with Joe B…Never blame the officials..the better team does not always win…Croton has been to the finals the last two years great job by their coaching staff and players..great game by Bronxville and good luck in the states..bring home to Sect 1 the State championship…And yes there should never be foul language on these blogs

  43. UNREAL

last team as big as bronxville was the Class C team Caledonia Mumford that beat Rye in the Dome first year of Section1 NYS playoffs 1993, their line averaged 275 and they had a D1 RB. That team was unbelievable. Bronxville just as big, without the D1 rb, but they are very good.

  44. fooballbeenveryverygood2me

Bronxville Football is a good team, beat Dobbs, they need to stop whining…..Beat a solid Croton team as well….that’s how champions roll.
I just hope there egos don’t get out of control, as some are known to do…..they still fall 7 state championships short of their own girls XC team at their school….when they can consistently put out great teams then the program has arrived, until then, enjoy the ride while you can.

  45. Go eagles

Congrats to both Bronxville and Tuckahoe. I only wish Eastchester had joined you guys at the top of the section.

    Give ‘em hell in States.

  46. TigerAlumn

I was at the game and just a few observations:

    1) Croton was slightly better at the skill postions (QB, WR, and RB’s = draw).
    2) It may sound crazy that I said that Croton and Bronxville have equally skilled backs, but that will be made clear by the next observation).
    3) Bronxville’s line was mammoth and allowed their backs to rip off huge chunks of yards on each play….........I think Bronxville is most definetly headed to the dome. I can’t see a class C team competing with that size….Good luck to the Broncos.

  47. D

Crotons gameplan defensively was poor. You can’t just sit back and let them run you over. They didn’t really blitz much. When you’re outmatched size wise you have to use your speed and get in the backfield quickly. They knew what was coming. Bronx ran the same 3 plays all game. You have to create opportunities and turnovers when a team is running the ball down your throat and overpowering you.

  48. Ret

I saw one of the mammoth lines of section 1 in JJEF, at Rye. Bronxvilles is bigger.

  49. Dobbs Croton

I was at the Dobbs vs Croton game. Dobbs won that game, refs took it away from them. It was a shame but as someone said earlier: its in the past, so no point in complaining now

  50. Real Music 93

i havent been able to watch bronxville i hear their better then nanuet

  51. Croton Football Fan

Bronxville was just too good tonight. It is there turn.

Good Luck at the next level. It was a great ride for Croton last year. Enjoy it Bronxville.

    Go Section One at States.

Dobbs you lost to Bronxville and Croton. The Refs do not decide the game.

Enjoy your winning season Dobbs . Class C has put in the time to compete with you.

It was a fun time this year. Get ready for next year.

    Hit the gym

  52. Ping

The blogger calling himself “bronxville” isn’t even from bronxville.

  53. Dobbs Ferry

Just want to say congratulations to both Croton and Bronxville on great season. The guys at croton are a great bunch of guys and should keep their head up. Bronxville you have a great team good luck in states and represent section 1

  54. HSFB Guy

Well a congrats goes out to Bronxville…Napalitano finally gets that big line-team and wins with it…

though someone mentioned something earlier that was true…they should be good in states, however they do fall short of BOTH girls and boys XC and T&F teams…Bronxville is known for their girls running programs, and their boys running programs are still up there along the elite…for once a different sport is shining over there…

But enough of the dissing on and putting down Dobbs..don’t forget they have the history and track record. Next year is a totally different year…if Dobbs wants to be back, they NEED to hit the sled-Wagner doesn’t believe in the sled and I have heard from numerous former and current Dobbs players who hate how the style of football has changed. Skip V and McKenzie had a strong and successful style; Wagner is slowly destroying that foundation.

  55. Class C

Dobbs lost to Bronxville, Hastings, and Croton so why is it even being discussed? It’s not like all those looses were some fluke. This year, this season, they just weren’t good enough to be in the running. Talk about refing; tonight Croton did not have a single penalty. Their one penalty ws an unsportsmanlike that was nullified as an offsetting penalty. Croton lost by 15 points with Bronxville putting up 500+ yards of offense and Murray rushing for 100+ in the 1st quareter alone. How did it stay even that close? Very simple, Crton was never assessed a single penalty and Bronxville had to have at least 7 or 8 major penalties even taking points off the board When a team is that dominant however it’s tough even for the zebras to steal it. They had black and white shirts so all they needed was a little orange and they could have officially been on Croton.

  56. Who Cares?

Stop crying about the refs. Win with some class.

  57. Ping

Congratulations, Broncos, on a fine win. BOTH teams played a great game and can be proud. Bronxville’s massive line, super Q.B’s and faster than a speeding bullet R.B.’s are just too much to handle. Fine job by All Players. Broncos gonna ROCK THE DOME Baby!

  58. Husky 92

Go Bronco’s , my mother was Class of 57’. Section 1 blogger drinks his own pee!

  59. I am a 10th grader....

and I am 10xs smarter than Husky 92. Seriously you are a compelte tool. Now go back to living in your dad’s shadow

  60. Husky 92

I am a 10th grader, Daddy’s shadow is great! You are so stupid, you dont even know where Section 1 is and you never got beyond the 9th grade. Im so over you… Go back to playing your with your tonka toys, and stop using different names, you never was, never will be…Go get you shinebox….

  61. I am a 10th grader....

that come back was as funny as you still wearing your 90’s Harrison football jacket to games you nerd. Go grab your Artie blow up doll and beat it.

  62. Croton Football

all I read on these blogs is how horrible croton is, about how all of their wins are luck, and that all of their fans are scum bags, well, at every croton game i’ve been to this season not once have I heard our fans mock or jeer at an opposing team-only cheer in support of the tigers, unlike the dobbs ferry game where there fans chanted “you can’t stop him” (as well as bronxville fans), and hollering “this isnt your house anymore, this is my house croton!”.
despicable, and bronxville wasn’t much better when they chanted the same things at the sectional final game, and at their first encounter, I was told that the team was cursed out by bronxville students multiple times. cowardly.
I give the utmost respect to this bronxville team and program, for they have been a physically big team (without steiroids) and have executed well for the past four years. As for dobbs, they have some of the most heart i’ve ever seen in high school football and brailsford’s run was incredible-but there were 2 penalties they could have called, one for a block in the back, another for holding, i didn’t see any players from dobbs debating it.
As for “paying the refs” past couple games, that is absurd-as absurd as saying that bronxvilles players are juciing, i know coach catano and he works his team to the bone on execution and no stupid penalties, especially after the dobbs ferry game.
So please, encourage the players, encourage the teams and coaches, for all the kids put there hearts and souls into this game and work there hardest, and for us to try and mock them or attempt to belittle them-as adults and young adults-is extremely embarassing.
Thank you and best of luck to Bronxville against Ellenville! I remember how dirty they were last year, so watch out. Finally to all other tams in Section one who are not still paying, congrats on an amazing season and best of luck in the future to all of you!

  63. capt hook

time for the off-season weight training program.

    good luck to bxville!

  64. ...

Croton fans were chanting sink the fairies

  65. Bronxville-Croton

I was at the Bronxville-Croton game and thought both sides behaved really well and did not personally witness anything remotely bad. Towards the end of the game there was a chant of UN-DE-FEATED by the Bronxville partisans but that was not mocking in any way. The crowd seemed to be in great spirits on both sides and the Bronco and Tiger mascots antics were truly hysterical and very good natured towards one another. When a cramped up Croton player who went down was helped up there was polite applause from the Bronxville crowd. As far as Bronxville students “cursing out” Croton players all I can say is neither of these teams student bodies are anything out of even West Side Story and while that could, of course, be an isolated incident I would say there is no way they would face any sort of jeering gauntlet any worse than, “we’re gonna whip you guys” or something to that effect. The Bronxville AD would simply not tolerate it and I am 100% positive the Croton AD would not tolerate it as well. Croton has a great program and I ma sure they will be back but they simply ran into a buzzsaw for this one season.

  66. Croton Football

    Bronxville-Croton
I completely agree for the most part that it was a fairly well applauded game by both sides, with the exception of the “undefeated” and “you cant stop him”, as for croton’s “sink the ferry-not fairies” chant, as in dobbs ferry, they were making a “clever” analogy, one that started last year after croton had won in the shocking semi-final game, and was to help motivate a losing croton team, not to demotivate a dobbs ferry team-which is probably an impossible task in that program.
as for all my other comments, I am not trying to judge an entire community and football program based off of the actions of a few fans such as the ones who cowardly cursed out a croton team during warm-ups, but rather help set an example that we should cheer for our teams-not against them.

  67. Croton Football

and to clear up the confusion, it was not during the game, i was told it was during wrm-ups, before just about any fans or AD or even bronxville players were outside at the field, that a car drove by several times with bronxville teenagers screaming things at the croton team which I will not repeat on this blog.

  68. Bronxville-Croton

Agreed, you are always going to have a few miscreants from both sides that simply don’t get it. On your other point I don’t thing chanting “Undefeated” is any worse, and is probably better than “Sink the Ferry” Chanting “Undefeated” is not meant to be demeaning to the other team; it’s merely highlighting a great accomplishment. It’s very tough to pull that off at the varsity level in any sport and especially football. I could see the other team getting a little ticked at “Sink the Ferry” clever as that play on words might be because there you are taking a direct crack at your opponent. If Bronxville had chanted “we tamed the tiger” I don’t think you might have been so forgiving and felt more like Dobbs did with the “Sink the Ferry” cracks. Pulling off an undefeated season against teams the quality of Dobbs Ferry, Hastings and Croton twice is quite an accomplishment and that’s a tip of the hat to those teams for this season because they were very good. If Bronxville goes all the way to the Dome it will be in large part because of the superior competition they faced in Sec 1. Once it’s all over I root for all our Sec 1 teams and from your writing it seems you do also which is great.

  69. Bronxville-Croton

I told my kids when they played a couple of things. Never listen to any wiseguys in the stands and never worry about anything written about you in the paper. Told them there are 2 types of people watching. The ones who played and who will never give you any crap and have one emotion when they watch…envy….. because, myself included, we admire and wish we could be out there with you once again. The other people are those that never played; some will keep quiet and admire the skill and grace necessary to compete and then the small majority who never played, never could, never had the guts to stand up and be counted and who always had an excuse why they could not and those people also have one emotion…jealousy…and that’s the worst of all human emotions because it defies explanation. So, if you end up having to make eye contact with a hater, know one thing…they wish and would give anything to be in your shoes but, alas, they are merely cowards and afraid to hold themselves up to any scrutiny.

  70. pat l

This is football, not the ballet. Have any of you been to a college or pro game? Plenty of screaming and chanting going on. It’s all in good fun…I’ve heard worse riding down rt 9.

  71. Ping

    Good luck Bronxville!

  72. Croton Football

I agree again Bronxville-Croton and do not justify the “sinking the ferry” chant, merely it was something that started off the field away from dobbs last year, and shouldntve been used with dobbs ferry present for it could be misconstrued very easily. As for the undefeated chant, out of respect it could have been done after croton had left, but not that big a deal.
As for pat I, pros and college are much different from high school, that is when competition gets serious and only a very select few can play, whereas in high school we are talking about kids, parents, friends, and former teammates/coaches who attend the games so there shouldn’t be this atmosphere.
