Bowl, playoff picks

November
5

I’ll be breaking down the Section 1 finals over the course of the next two days. First, here are my picks for this weekend’s bowl, CHSFL playoff and other assorted games:

Thursday
Arlington 20, Mount Vernon 12
Scarsdale 28, Clarkstown South 20
John Jay 38, Ketcham 32, OT
Mahopac 35, Lincoln 7

Friday
Mamaroneck 14, Port Chester 6
John Jay-EF 21, Rye 17
Ossining 20, Somers 14
Carmel 28, Suffern 13
Pleasantville 35, Albertus Magnus 21
Valhalla 14, Blind Brook 8
Clarkstown North 34, Gorton 13

Saturday
Harrison 20, Eastchester 7
Sacred Heart 28, Harvey 14
CHSFL playoffs
Holy Cross 27, Fordham Prep 17: The Rams lost already to Holy Cross, which is poised to make a run at the final.

Sunday
CHSFL playoffs
St. Joseph’s by the Sea 35, Iona Prep 31: Although healthy on offense, Iona’s defense hasn’t proven it can line up and stop one of the league’s top offenses. St. Joe’s is extremely talented.
Stepinac 28, St. Francis Prep 20: St. Francis is only 1-7 and that victory came last week. But don’t be fooled by the record of the AAA team. Stepinac could have its hands full.
Mount St. Michael 14, Xavier 0: Xavier is a quality program but not one at the level of Mount. The Mounties should advance.

My game-by-game breakdowns for the Section 1 finals will be posted beginning tonight.

Now Mahopac has just entered the super losers bowl. The only reason they are playing Lincoln with I believe only one win is to asure a 5-4 winning record. Why dont they take on somebody like JJEF did in playing Rye. That game is a no win for JJEF, if they win they beat a A school, if they lose it is an A school and they are playing at Rye as well so congratulations to them. Congratulations to Coach Donohue and staff on taking on the toughest competition LOL.

See you on the mats. Mahopac I believe opens on Dec 1 home against LakelandPanas. No bonfire or Kool aid

  3. 3 Yards And A Cloud Of Dust

Have any of you noticed how many teams have packed it in and are not even playing this weekend? Also from the heard it from the grapvine. I have heard from a pretty reliable source that White Plains is so disgusted with section 1 in football that they are seriously thinking of going independent next year. There are also about another 6 – 7 schools that might follow in the same direction. Section 1 in football leadership right now is like the titanic, heading for a crash with an iceberg.

  4. 45

Holy cross smacked fordham 46-0. Now you think its going to be a 10 point game?

  5. Honesty

I totally agree with you. Section one is pathetic. First we need to get out of the state championship running. Playing six games, to determine a champion is ridiculous. If one of the section one teams go to syracuse, they would have played 6 regular season games and 6 playoff games. Stupid!!!!

We need to go back to the old system of an eight game season, then a sectional playoff for the top four teams. To declare a sectional champion. Then bring back the three bowl games for the remaining teams. (The top eight will play. For section championship (top 4) and (bottom four)for bowl game

Let’s be honest, although it’s a dream of many teams to go to syracuse, the state playoffs really have only servicedd a handful of teams compared to the teams in section one
Bring football back to section one. Rivalries, with game schedule and the bowl games in white plains. This is what needs to happen.

  6. The Donald

    Honesty,

I have been sayig that for years. Bring back the rivalries, forget the states. Have 8 games. Let’s face it. 6 games is a joke. There is no incentive for teams out of the playoffs. Players start focusing on winter sports. make every week something for players and famalies to look forword to. We cut back to six games because of budget cuts? Last I heard it cost a few bucks to drive to Kingston and syracuse. Play 8, top 4 go to sections. Who ever is left schedule with each other. may get back some old rivalries. Then start winter sports on time!

  7. news

if i were white plains i would go independent to. in the end they are always playing for third anyway, so what is the difference?

  8. Jeff P.

Just wondering: If some the “traditional” powers were playing in the Section 1 championship games, would we having this discussion about abandoning the state football playoffs? After all, Section 1 competes in the state playoffs for every other sport…

  9. FB DAD

Who actually runs Section 1????? Is it 1 person or a bunch of AD’s???

This Makes or Breaks the Standings…. Good Luck!!

  11. HSFB Guy

The “budget cuts” mostly come down to the cost of transportation….buses, gas, paying the drivers, etc, goes a long way. I recently saw a bill by a local public school athletic department had to pay for the current week at the times charters…for THAT ONE week it was more than 4 places on the left side of the decimal if you know what I mean..

White Plains would have a serious point behind the decision to go freelance in football. When you look at other sports, there aren’t as many restrictions and problems regarding games and post season. For one once all the Public sections have their champs, all 11 sections take part in the state tournaments. I guess because volleyball, softball etc can play two games in 3 days allows the out bracket to make 11 into 8. On the football side having the LI title game doesn’t give the state title as much prestige.

Just look at the recent section 1 changes and notice how every other sport is affected except football: season length, league changes and alignments among other things. Now we have football teams doing 6 games, then 3 section 1, 3 state games, so a 50% playoff schedule is kind of odd to say the least. At least the CHSFL believes strongly in rivals and tradition thus making the turkey bowl games allowed even after a team plays 11-12 games.

and you guys are right about the whole dreams of Syracuse but only being held by certain teams. The current cut off numbers have eliminated almost all the small school teams in the section, giving a huge pile up near the top. Alot of smaller sized schools are now in a developmental league to remain competitive instead of being in a bigger class and never achieving much success. Others are just taking those lumps and are going 1-5 2-6 even winless.

  12. 10960

I also want to Re-Post the interesting Class AA story.

  13. The Donald

    Jeff P,

The team I like is in the finals sat. I say end the season at the section finals and forget the states. States ruin the whole season.

  14. BIG JOE

KEVIN , WHY SO GENEROUS WITH THE HARRISON VS. EASTCHESTER…I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE A MUCH CLOSER GAME

  15. oldnintheway

    Kev:

Disagree a bit on Harrison/Eastchester and Ossining/Somers. Unless Eastchester is totally demoralized at this point, I think the seniors want to avenge that loss. It’s not as if their outstanding lines won’t be at the game. Having said that, I still like an improving Husky team in a close one. I think Somers takes Ossining by at least a TD. Ossining was somewhat overrated this year, and Degree’s loss has really hurt them.

  16. DutchessFBfan

    10960,

Amazing…the #2 and #3 largest schools with great coaching staffs have run the table..Im shocked..how long did it take you to do that in depth analysis? As I said when Coach Direinzo left New Ro…they stunk…he came back..they were great? Whats the common denominator? Also Coach Lynch who is well regarded as North Rock D coordinator was given the bums rush at Clarkstown South when he was head coach there..but has won multiple championships at North Rock in baseball and as a coordinator for the Raiders in football? Are we seeing a trend here??Wow..Arlington makes the semis and a bowl game in year 3 since Coach Dematteo was hired…Im shocked? You gotta give me something a little more in depth than that last post??

  17. FL SEC 1 FAN

I read the blogs and can understand the playoff frustration. In florida every high school plays a 10 game schedule and 1st and 2nd teams in each district go to the playoffs in every level. We have 8 classes. The finals are done by the 2nd week in December. New York doesnt get it, for a varsity squad to play 6 games is a joke, thats a freshman schedule. All of the fans on this blog need to get in the ad’s ears and change this, its nice to see the fans of section 1 have the passion that they display for their teams.

Also, there’s no difference between public and private we go by enrollment period. Not to say the system down here is perfect, but its better than what i read up there. Kevin lead the way to make the change.

  18. football gods

I don’t think we should get out of the state playoffs I tink the season shouled start earlier with two crossover included one in the begining based on last year and one at the end to determine seeding for the playoff. Allow every team to plat a 10 or 11 game schedule to allow for those inner town or cross town rivals to be able to compete. I do believe it should limit the bowls to what they where a few years past semifinal losers play quater final losers who beat other quaterfinal losers. which will give a section champion and two bowl champions in each league.

  19. HSFB Guy

    fl sec 1 fan

early december..don’t you guys also start school in like early august? b/c that’s what i was told by a few high schoolers in the tampa area.

either way that sounds like a good idea. Longer seasons, I mean hey the kids are already in Triple Sessions in August and practicing BEFORE school starts so it doesnt change much. It would also cut back on those “thud camps” and the Optional-yet not optional camps and eliminate alot of that debate.

  20. FL SEC 1 FAN

    HSFB Guy

In Orlando we start last week in august, also we are allowed full contact spring practice, this eliminates alot of your need for thud camps. No triple sessions due to heat exposure.

  21. Mister Fist

    Tuckahoe over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie over Roosevelt
    Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow
    Bronxville over Croton-Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    Rye over JJEF
    Somers over Ossining
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Harrison over Eastchester
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

  22. dm50

The six game schedule is such a diservice to every football player in section 1. What I dont understand is why do they take away games from the varsity level sports? Why not eliminate 1 or 2 games across the board from every modified/freshmen/jv sport and the districts will be able to pay the transportation costs to allow for an increased varsity schedule so that every team will play 9-10 games a year. It is not just football. Games have been cut from basketball and baseball as well. Section 1 has no vision and doesn’t think long term.

  23. 3 Yards And A Cloud Of Dust

    And away we go:

    Tuckahoe over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie over Roosevelt
    Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow

    Somers over Ossining
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Harrison over Eastchester
    Bonus Game:

    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Harrison over Eastchester
    Bonus Game:

LMAO!!!! Bronxville/Croton Game will set 3 Yards and 10960 apart. You guys picked dead even with only 1 game difference!!!

  26. football fann

rye and jj ef? small A vs very big AA, do they just want to play for fun?

  27. Question

Aren’t most of the teams playing 8-9 games anyway in the existing format? i don’t see where you save money on the busing. Many teams have played the last 2-3 games away which actually cost them more than if there were scheduled games.

  28. WingTGuy

    Tuckahoe
    Poughkeepsie
    Nanuet
    Bronxville
    New Rochelle
    JJEF
    Somers

    Nanuet
    Bronxville
    New Rochelle
    JJEF
    Somers
    Arlington
    Carmel
    Harrison
    Pleasantville

I know I said North Rock but something made me type New Ro…cant go against the Huegenots in a big game…

  31. Jeff P.

    My picks:

    Tuckahoe over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie over Roosevelt
    Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow
    Bronxville over Croton-Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    John Jay-EF over Rye
    Somers over Ossining
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Harrison over Eastchester
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

To The Donald, I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree with regards to Section 1’s involvement the state playoffs. To me, it’s kind of like saying we should opt out of the state boys’ hoops playoffs because Mount Vernon and Peekskill usually have the only legitimate chances of reaching Glens Falls. IMHO, it’s questionable decisions made by Section 1 administrators which have affected this football season. Good luck to your team this weekend…

    BTW: Where is John Malone?

  32. HowdyDoodyTime

Honesty and the Donald. Getting out of the State tournament is not the answer. NO ONE IN SECTION 1 IS ONLY PLAYING 6 GAMES THIS YEAR!!! According to your own scenario, teams could still play an 8 game regular seasons and still play in the state playoffs. Teams are only playing 6 games IN THE REGULAR SEASON this year and next because of a Section 1 (and to a lesser extent a NY State) mandate. Usually the classes that want an 8 team playoff play 7 reg games and three rounds of playoffs. Your proposing all classes go to a 4 team playoff and an 8 game reg season and two rounds of playoffs. Since AA has 3 leagues of 6, I’d rather play your 5 game league schedule, 2 cross overs and have three rounds of playoffs than have an extra cross over game instead of playoff game. But that’s just me. Either way you still have the same amount of games, 10 to 10. After that the 5 teams that win the section can play in the state tournament. I just think that teams should be allowed to keep playing after sectional play, if they choose. Why limit teams to sectional play only? I understand about capping the season for safety issues, but if you allow ten teams to play 13 games, why not let all teams play 13 games. That way, you could have traditional rivalries played on Thanksgiving day AFTER the season like in Massachusetts. You could set up Private school vs. Public School games that could mean something to both schools. Can you imagine what a game between Sectional winner New Rochelle vs. Catholic League Champ Iona would look like? Even if New Ro lost before the State Championship game (like they have the last few years), they could salvage their season by beating Iona, or Iona can stamp total dominance by winning the catholic league AND beating the Class AA champ! Or how about having Harrison play Rye on Thanksgiving (in the years they don’t play each other in league or playoffs). That game would be sick! Tuckahoe – Bronxville, Somers – JFK, Hastings – Dobbs, Sleepy Hollow – Ossining, and all the other great old rivalries all played on Thanksgiving!!!! All those games would have thousands of people at the games because of all the alumni that always travel home for Thanksgiving! Keep playing in the State tournament, just don’t limit the teams that don’t make it. Best of Both Worlds.

FB DAD…Jennifer Simmons is the Executive Director of Section I Athletics. She’s the one in charge, and the one we should all be venting our anger at. She’s basically the one that ruined the football season for many of us. Here’s a link to her contact info. Maybe if we all call and complain we can get something done.

    http://www.swboces.org/staff_directory.cfm?location=4

  33. Tomaso

I think the biggest issue in NYS is the availability of the Dome at Syracuse for the State Championship Games. If they moved from that site and could push Championship weekend back a few weeks each section would have the ability to play a full schedule before sectional championship games are played and the state tournament begins.

  34. WingTGuy

Here are my picks. I thought I had already posted them, but now can’t find them. So here we go again.

    Tuckahoe
    Poughkeepsie
    Nanuet
    Bronxville
    New Rochelle
    JJEF
    Somers
    Arlington
    Carmel
    Eastchester
    Pleasantville

  35. Chris

Should I even bother going to the Tuckahoe vs. haldane or Nanuet vs. Sleepy games? It looks as if no one thinks the latter teams have a shot (haldane/Sleepy).

    Thoughts?

  36. Husky 92

Ive seen St Joe’s by the sea play. Iona is going to have there handsfull.

  37. garnet10580

OK Boys – sorry I couldn’t find the 10960 roster of last weeks games to be picked, so I lost out last week (sort of like my team!). Any way here we go:

    Tuckahoe X Over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie X Over Roosevelt
    Nanuet X over Sleepy Hollow
    Croton-Harmon over Bronxville X
New Rochelle over North Rockland X
    Rye X over JJEF
    Somers X over Ossining
    Arlington X over Mount Vernon
    Carmel X over Suffern
    Harrison X over Eastchester

    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville X over Albertus Magnus

  38. Into december?

“If they moved from that site and could push Championship weekend back a few weeks…”

Even further into winter season? How would that make sense for the fall and winter athlete? It’s hard enough as it is for a football player to prepare for Thanksgiving weekend and get in required practices. Winter season practices begin this Monday, November 9th.

  39. Power House

This is where I make my leap

    Tuckahoe Over Haldane
    Roosevelt Over POK
    Sleepy Hollow over Nanuet
    Bronxville Over Croton Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    JJEF over Rye
    Somers over Ossining
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Harrison over Eastchester
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

  40. Power House

    Garnet10580,

You shafted yourself, you missed a week and your still amongst the top, Imagine you picked!!!

  41. BlackTrack

garnet10580 “punted” when he should have run the play.

Rye ran the play when they should have punted.

    Oh, well.

  42. Just a fact

    Black Track,

    lol!

  43. Just a fact

    Howdy,

GREAT POST! Too many times we sit here like jack a$$es going back forth on topics with nowhere to turn for a real solution. Thanks for posting this ladies info. Time to take to the streets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  44. Power House

    Wow LOL@ BlackTrack

    How bout those Garnets

  45. Just a fact

    10960,

we might not see total domination like this from two teams over the course of a full decade again.

    Great Job by BOTH Programs!

    Most likely:
    New Ro 28
    North Rock 14

    If upset

    North Rock 17
    New Ro 14

  46. Power House

Class A fans totally dominate this blog because the biggest game of this weekend is clearly North Rockland Vs. New Rochelle. The Polls on the Right have POK Vs. Roosevelt as the best game.

Your talking about 2 undefeated teams that have dominated the last 10 years and its almost fate that the these two programs cap off the decade. This is a huge game!!! POK and Roosevelt have noooooooo fan base.

  47. ScottinRye

I want toadd that Ohio breaks down temas by size and then by 16 regions, with 8 plyoff teams in each dicvision for each region.

Finals are all plyed outdoors on the first weekend of December.

After attending a couple of state championship games at the dome I can tell you that it is not a great experience for the teams or the fans.

The place has no atmosphere because it is so large, and they hustle the teams off the field so quickly you barely have time to accept the post game trophy.

I would love to examine additional field locations (Michie at Army for example) to try and capture a better tournament experience.

I would also suggest that they re-evaluate using Deitz as the site for the Regionals. The turf is in poor shape, the lights suck, and the surrounding atmosphere also leaves alot to be desired.

  48. Power House

Yea and Dietz Stadium is practically home field advantage to section 2 teams just as the Carrier Dome is for the Syracuse teams. That has to be fixed.

  49. LetsBeHonest

    Here we go;

    Tuckahoe Over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie Over Roosevelt
    Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow
    Bronxville over Croton-Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    Rye over JJEF
    Somers over Ossining
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Eastchester over Harrison
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

  50. Spectator

    football gods

Its not a matter of times with the games is a mater of numbers. They could easily get games in from now until thanksgiving, they just dont wont to allow 10 games.

I am convinced that this problem will never be addressed until school start going independent. So far Section 1 has been calling the bluff of the complainers crying wolf. They need to c that wolf, and it would be ideal if WP would lead the charge as they are one of the oldest Section 1 teams.

This isnt basketball when all the teams play in the tournament (federation champion). LI and CHSFL both operate outside of the state tourney meaning there is no true champion. So competing in the tournament isnt all that necessary. Just give it to Monroe-Woodberry every year and have them think they’re the best team in the state.

  51. Spectator

    Tuckahoe Over Haldane
    Roosevelt Over Poughkeepsie
Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow (unless they smash a pumpkin)
    Bronxville over Croton-Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    JJEF over Rye
Somers over Ossining (not real confident)
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
Carmel over Suffern (not sure here either)
    Eastchester over Harrison
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

4 me this was by far the hardest week to pick. Some good games commin up

  52. chochy

JJ will Beat Ketcham tonight 27 -7 mark it down. Pickel is unstoppable.

  53. HAYWOOD

MOUNT VERNON WILL BEAT ARLINGTON CHECK YOUR WATCH

  54. LetsBeHonest

Chochy, he was very stoppable in the regular season where they played PLAYOFF teams. Obviously he isn’t playing the best competition of late, but hes good, but nothing special.

  55. chochy

He was never stopped Pickel is incredible and you will see after tonight when they crush Ketcham

  56. ...

Bronxville beats Croton but should be a great game.

  57. I Think I Know

All changes in Section 1 Athletics were mandated by a majority of the Section 1 Suprintendents of Schools. Before inundating the Section 1 Athletic Office with telephone calls or e-mails demanding changes to the way Section 1 Athletics has been re-organized, contact your local Superintendent and see if he/she voted to mandate the changes that were made. If your Superintendent was in favor of the mandate, vent your frustrations on him/her and not the Section 1 Athletic Office.

  58. DutchessFBfan

    I think I know…

    Thanks Jen Simmons

  59. Jeff P.

Power House: “POK and Roosevelt have noooooooo fan base.”

Actually, these schools do have fan bases. It’s just that neither one has spent lots of time on this blog telling everyone how great their respective progams are. The kids who suit up Saturday will settle the matter…

Also re your comments regarding Dietz: I’m not a big fan of that ancient AstroTurf, either, but it is supposed to be replaced at the end of this year. Maybe Faller Field in Middletown (which has FieldTurf) can be a viable alternative, though… For what it’s worth, Monroe-Woodbury is over fifty miles away from Dietz Stadium, and yet it doesn’t seem to have problems winning games there…

  60. Spectator

    Jen Simmons

    Thanks, that explains everything

  61. Spectator

    i meant i think i know…u explained it

  62. chochy

is there score updates? Where are the reporters toninght

  63. Jeff P.

Good point, “I think I know”... I guess that as always, the main problem in Section 1 is that the a sizable amount of school superintendents and/or the Section administration do not have the same passion for football as we on this blog do. If it’s a case of not wanting to overemphasize football, it feels like overcompensation…

  64. I KNOW I Know

I Think I Know….”All changes in Section 1 Athletics were mandated by a majority of the Section 1 Suprintendents of Schools”. True, but they go on the recommendation of the Section 1 Athletic Office. IF the S1AO had gone with the recommendation of NY State Athletics, they would have approved a 9 game schedule, WITH A 10th Game granted for teams involved in Sectional play!!! (“The 9th game is permitted, with section approval, for teams who do not qualify for sectional play. For the teams involved in the sectional tournament the maximum number of contests shall be 10. For those sections involved in the state championship three additional games are permitted for a total of 13 games for the season: 1 game for regionals, 1 game for semifinals, and 1 game for championships. Effective for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.”) The S1AO took it a step further, and limited ALL teams to 9 games!!! Jen Simmons killed football at Arlington when she was the AD there, and now she’s trying to kill football in all of Section 1. For those who don’t believe me, here’s the link to the NY State Athletic ruling (see page 11). It clearly states that 9 game with 10th game sectional approval rule.

PS. Note who filed the motion for limiting games!!

  65. Power House

    Jeff P.

Section 9 and Section 1 trade bye weeks when it comes to state tourney play. Monroe Woodbury is not the issue when it comes to home field. Its section 1.

If anything, Monroe is closer to Kingston than Albany. Not a good example of a team. Last year Monroe-woodbury had a bye then played New Rochelle then went to the dome!!

Besides, the top of section 2 is weak anyway, They’re always sending out LaSalle. I’m more focused on class A and the journey from the section 1 metro area to Kingston which is about 100 miles if your talking Class A Roosevelt!!!

Thats a metro area more reliant to public transportation!!!

  66. Power House

Jen Simmons is a loser. Why does it seem like bureaucrats always feel the need to stick their ugly faces where they don’t belong with an agenda to regulate something they know nothing about?

  67. Just a fact

    Here are my picks.

Picking North Rock, since needed four diff games then 3 yards

    Tuckahoe Over Haldane
    Poughkeepsie over Roosevelt
Nanuet over Sleepy Hollow (unless they smash a pumpkin)
    Bronxville over Croton-Harmon
    New Rochelle over North Rockland
    JJEF over Rye
    Ossining over somers
    Arlington over Mount Vernon
    Carmel over Suffern
    Eastchester over Harrison
    Bonus Game:
    Pleasantville over Albertus Magnus

  68. Just a fact
    • North Rock over New Ro
  69. DutchessFBfan

    Clarification,

Jen Simmons was the Wappingers CSD AD and did all she could to kill football there, she hates it and hated Coach Walsh because he started to wield some power up here and once Coach Keevins left JJEF to go to RCK he did the same and she was intimidated and antagonistic to both of them…ask anyone around the JJEF program?...just ask Coaches Walsh or Keevins as well..Im amazed they didnt walk, football was a joke in Wappingers before Coach Walsh arrived at JJEF and hired Coach Keevins as his assistant a few years back, now both schools are well regarded in football(JJEF is 30-14 under Coach Walsh and RCK is 20-15 under Keevins going into tonights games, not bad for perennial doormats?)...their facilties are the worst in the section and it was under her watch, anything done at either school has come from hard work by the parents and coaches, it really is sad to see the lack of support from the district…shes a disaster for Sec 1 football…any other JJEF or RCK people out there??Am I wrong?Any score updates anyone…there was no way I was going out tonight..although I feel strongly about an Arlington and RCK victory…I probably just jinxed them…please some scores..somebody?

  70. HowdyDoodyTime

Power House, minor correction, Sections 1, 2, & 9 alternate the bye’s. This year Section 2 has the bye. But answer me this. How come the Section 9 schools are ALWAYS the home team when games are played at Dietz (http://www.sectionixathletics.org/2009FootballHandbook.pdf see page 4)? Also, LaSalle was the #1 seed in the Section 2 tourny again this year, but got knocked out in the first round (http://www.section2football.com/). The Section 2 title game is Friday night between Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa. Springs beat Spa in Week 6 17-14, should be a good game the second time around.

  71. GoNewRo

    Just a fact

Well, which one is it? New Rochelle or North Rockland? Can’t really follow your last post.

  72. Just a fact

    Power,

you are being to kind to Jen Simons.

    Dutchess,

sounds like she has a huge case of CE, but I won’t go any further with that. I am sure I am already on Kev’s list for getting kicked off this blog ( Power House might be right behind me). hahahhahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

  73. Just a fact

    Go New Ro,

I am picking North Rock, since to win I need to pick at least 4 different games than 3 yards and 10960 to win.

  74. Spectator

    any scores?

  75. Just a fact

BTW, just got home from work, I was copy pasting everybody’s picks and realized I was late getting mine on here. I will assume since no scores have been posted, I am ok with the tardiness.

  76. chochy

Lohud Kev wake up and give us scores. whats up with this site?

  77. GoNewRo

    Kevin Devaney Jr.

Will any of the 5 Mahopac games be shown live on Lohud.com?

  78. Kevin Devaney Jr.

chochy, why does it seem you only comment to complain about posting scores? Unfortunately, I’m not out at any games tonight. Today is the semifinals for Section 1 boys soccer, girls soccer and field hockey. Sorry. I’ll post if I hear anything else.

And GoNewRo: The short answer is “No.” More details tomorrow.

  79. Scores

The JN is covering games that actually matter in soccer and other sports, aka sectional games. Not extra football games nobody cares about.

  80. chochy

Sorry Kev but I thought you would have other people at these bowl games.

  81. Power House

    Hey Devaney,

    You sound bitter

  82. Power House

What are we going to do about Jen Simmons guys??

Should we contact the Journal News?? errr umm oh yea were already here and politics plays a major role with this news paper company….full of Non-Journalist but more like News reporters who want to stay politically correct and not aggravate certain people connections.

  83. Power House

The Journal news would never bring to the table issues that would soil the name of institutions that they rely on. They have the nerve to name it journal news, wheres Robert McChesney when you need him?

  84. fan

    chochy,

there are only 2 bowl game. eastchester/harrison and somers/ossining. all of these other games are just match-up games. that’s why no one cares. there is no bowl championship up for grabs

  85. DutchessFBfan

    Don Dematteo Bowl,

RCK 49- JJCR 27…1 down 3 to go…anyone on Arlington score???Chochy…perhaps you should change your screen name to Chokey???

  86. I love FB

RC Ketchan wins 49-27 over John Jay Cross River to win the Donald DeMatteo Bowl. Good job to the RCK Indians!

  87. Bball time

enough with football it is basketball time! lets go Devany!!!

  88. Croton Fan

Ok, the fact is that Croton didn’t play well in there last matchup against Bronxville. But Bronxville doesn’t know that and there going to come out firing. And it is obvious that Bronxville has at least a couple players on roids, they have a corner that gained about 50 pounds! The only reason they might win it is because they are on roids, and a bunch of classless meatheads.

  89. hollow fan

    Chris
Sleepy has a great shot, probably the best shot to upset the favorite. Everybody should come to mahopac at 8 or stay after the PK v. Roos. game. Its going to be a war between 2 great teams hungry for the dome. Best of luck to both teams and stay healthy.

  90. Mountie Hoops

ok basketball starts monday but till then it’s football!!!
saw the above picks and everyone has picked Carmel over us-I will state that we will win(albeit by a few points) but will weather the storm…we will be without demarsico but have 1 QB back(which puts the top WR in Rockland back catching the ball instead of filling in under center)..have faith we will finish 5-4 in 2009 and follow that up wit another solid year in 2010

  91. No way

Sleepy has the worst chance of pulling the upset. You’re nuts. Nanuet rolls big unless Bobby Small has the game of his life.

  92. statesman

I have a feeling that Rye is going to beat JJEF Handily. Good A Schools can compete if not beat AA’s on a good day. Walsh is a legend so we will see.

  93. Just a fact

    Power,

Already cancelled my subscription to the journal news a couple of months ago. My experience with the journal news has been somewhat different. The paper felt the need to tell me their thoughts on issues instead of doing their job which to me was report the news. I have heard they were going out of business but who knows at this point. Maybe they can get some bail out money and that way I will still be paying for the paper, just not receiving it. What a great country.

In regards to Jen Simmons, we can’t expect Kevin to carry this flag so to speak, one thing we can do is start with phone calls to this ladies office, though you know she will not take any of the calls. After that I do not know what else. It is a shame none of these AD’S have the spine to stand up to this lady and fight for what’s right. I agree with your ealier point that she should not able to make choices that effect a sport she knows absolutely nothing about.

  94. statesman

    Jeff P,

Do you remember the PK-Brewster Semifinal in 2003 when Sherwood Thomas (RIP) just went beserk and willed PK to the win? What ever happened ot Alecanderson, the RB from Brewster, he was solid? Watching the Rye game, that game kept coming to mind. A great semi final, 24-21 I think

  95. Tomaso

Lee Alexanderson the RB from Brewster played lax at RPI. That was a GREAT game, we miss Coach Walsh at Brewster.

  96. real music 93

ive got ossining over somers and i think its really unfair that rye gets another game. it defeats the whole purpose but w.e another reason 2 think rye is good by beating john jay but also who has the closest chance of being upset this week sum1 please answer

  97. Section 1

    Croton Fan,

Sounds like you are setting yourself up for an easy excuse when you lose. Bronxville was on steroids thats why they won…easy out for why Bronxville is simply better. You continue to claim kids are using steroids…NOT EVERY KID ON THE TEAM GAINED 50 pounds so stop saying that!!! A d-back gaining 50 pounds is not even close to true!!! No d-back on the Broncos was under 180 last year, considering this, if one gained 50 pounds he would be 230 pounds!! No d-back weighs 230 in the state!! You sound like an idiot making these completely ridiculous accusations. Do you understand that
    1) teenagers can not just magically “get” steroids…they don’t sell them at your local grocery store…
    2) If anyone on the team was using steroids there would be OBVIOUS physical and mental side affects, which by now would have been noticed and addressed by the coach, teammates, or parents especially with all the attention on here about the subject.
    3) The Broncos were a young team last year consisting mainly of sophomores and juniors..it is no surprise that their players got bigger, stronger, and faster.
    4) The team did come out of no where but claiming the use of steroids is a measly attempt by those they have beaten, or are going to beat, at making excuses…
AND guess what…4 out of 5 of their BIG BOYS on the line are juniors, coming back next year for more…I am sure they will all be bigger stronger and faster…

  100. FBFAN

    DutchessFBFAN,

Nice one on chochy.RCK blows out JJCR. Once again Cuccia comes through 2-td over 200 yds. passing MVP of the game. What can you say about the kid he has been solid all year. To bad they run the wing-t he would have broke records. He becomes the alltime leading passer in RCK history

  101. IonaPower

Here is the NY POst Preview-

Iona Prep @ St. Joseph by the Sea (Sunday, 1 p.m.)

Butler: They’re not looking for any sympathy, but you’ve got to feel for St. Joseph by the Sea a bit. The Vikings were one win away from an undefeated regular season and one of the top two seeds in the Class AAA playoffs. Instead, for a second straight year Sea falls to Holy Cross and drops to No. 4. And for a second straight year, Sea’s playoff run ends in the quarterfinals. Iona Prep is still the defending champions and healthy. Jeffrey Mack is back and quarterback Tyrae Woodson-Samuels will again pick apart the Sea secondary. Pick: Iona Prep

    Kendall Rodriguez
Joseph Lane and St. Joseph by the See need to beat defending CHSFL AAA champions Iona Prep in the quarterfinals.
Staszewski: The Vikings loss to Holy Cross earned them arguably the toughest matchup for a team with just one loss, especially now that Iona running back Jeffrey Mack is healthy again. St. Joseph by the Sea beat the Gaels, 42-28, during the regular season, but it was not as easy as the score indicated. Greg Manos’ club will enter the game hopping mad after its loss and have more trouble against the pass than the run. It won’t be easy, but they will find a way. Pick: St. Joseph by the Sea

  103. Under the stands

    Power,

Why do you need the Journal news to investegate Jen Simmons? If you or anyone have a problem with her, Put on your big boy pants and belly up to the bar. Call her boss and complain.

  104. DutchessFBfan

    Under The Stands…

Thats the problem…in Section 1 she is the boss when it comes to sports..thats the point youre missing!!Im sure she reports to someone..but dont know who that could be..maybe the head of all of the BOCES if there is one in the 4 county area?Maybe at the state level at NYSPHSAA??She wields an insane amount of power and cant imagine shes even in the position. Incompetent is polite..whatever is worse than incompetent is an apt description….

  105. DutchessFBfan

    Arlington/MV..JJEF/Rye!!!!

Where are all those MV fans who assured a Knight victory?? Arlington hasnt won a bowl game in some time so its nice to see in Coach Dematteos 3rd year there..and it further validates my claim that AA North still is the best league top to bottom by a wide margin..now lets hope JJEF doesnt screw this up tonight against Rye..I think very close..if Rye has success passing..watch out..I dont think theyll be able to establish any consistent ground game though..its nice when your guys are 210-225 at Rye…those are the small guys at JJEF…290,280,255,235,210,220,...Purcell, Rudzinski, Pizzuti, Raum(TE), Kandeel..these are real big kids that Rye hasnt seen before, when you see them they look like a Division 3 line, honestly!!..Urcoli to have a big night..Rye will play 11 guys about 4 yards from the ball and we shall see??Look for Coach Walsh to use a few trick or gadget plays..hes done so since his days at Brewster..one last thing… with Coach Garr over 200 wins and Coach Walsh at 195..has there ever been a matchup in the history of Sect 1 with as many wins between 2 coaches…the answer is no, there are only 11 coaches to ever win more than 150 since the turn of the century 1900..dont know what it means..hopefully that neither team will elect to not punt with the lead and the other with no timeouts at mid field??

  106. DutchessFBfan

One last thing..my sleeper player in the secondary for JJEF and at receiver and as an all around player is #2 Ryan Donohue..he will do something big in this game that will effect the outcome!

  107. Spectator

While I wouldn’t say i “assured: a knights victory, i did pick them, and it was a close game like i suspected. That being said theres is no way that that victory makes the north the best league by a wide margin. The fact is AA Norths #1 team just squeaked past AA south’s #3 team. If anything it looks good for the south, especially considering when MV played the top 2 teams in the south the margins were far greater

  108. Spectator

i think JJEF will win by 17

  109. DutchessFBfan

    Spectator,

How did I know that’d be your response..at least Im glad to hear youre alive…you see… when you get older as we all do…nobody cares what the score was…who won…who lost??And maybe I went a bit overboard with assured…there were some incidental MV posters who did though and you werent one of them..Any thoughts on POK/Roos and the game I cant figure out…JJEF/Rye..I actually have no clue..I always go with my teams if you look at my picks..think I only picked against once all year..not real objective..but fans dont have to be objective last I heard!!Oh and by the way..Arlington and RCK brought home bowl game victories in AA..I know that’ll rile up the purists..meaningless, blah, blah, blah..put on the pads and buckle the chinstrap and theres no such thing as meaningless unless you have no heart and its hugely disrespectful to the memory of Coach Donald Dematteo and Coach Keevins, who both did a lot for football in Section 1 for years! For those who bash Coach Wright, yesterday is a great example of him having his team prepared..and guess what..he made it to the finals in 04’..WP never has and we know the deal with New Rochelle!!Im glad it was a competitive game..Beating Carmel last week convincingly and Mamk in a play in is a nice accomplishment and it sounds like they played the Admirals tough in the Bowl…on to basketball..imagine Jabari Hinds in the backfield in football?

  110. Jeff P.

Statesman, I believe Alexanderson did go on to college, but I can’t remember which one… I do remember that Brewster game; PK had previously played the Bears in the regular season, but lost in a close game. Brewster had actually gotten off to a terrible start back in ‘03; that win over PK was its first of that season. The Bears entered that playoff game as a #7 seed, having knocked off Yorktown in the opening round. I definitely agree that Sherwood Thomas had an amazing game; if I recall correctly, one of his TD’s was on a halfback option pass from Steve Whitlow. It’s truly heartbreaking to remember how Sherwood was taken from us at such an early age…

Anyway, here’s hoping that Poughkeepsie turns in a better performance tomorrow that they did six years ago. I’m almost certain Roosevelt will give the Pioneers all they can handle…

  111. Spectator

    Dutchess

I try not to imagine what could have been when it never will be. On to roosevelt game, i think it will come down to PK’s offense. They have to put up close to 30 if they want to beat Roosevelt. No team this year has been able to stop that roosevelt offense(eastchester had them good 4 half a game), and i dont think POK will be able to either. I like Rossevelt in a shootout.

As far as JJEF/Rye, i think my views on class are weighing heavily on my prediction. I just think the gap between AA and A is far bigger than the gap between any of the other classes. I think you should it pretty good when u posted the size of the lines. It seams like Rye’s biggest lineman would b a tight end or fullback, maybe a guard on an AA roster.

  112. DutchessFBfan

    Spectator,

My thoughts exactly…but Ive been wrong before on this…I think JJEF in a close game..but dont really have much more to point to than size advantage..I think Rye has something to prove despite their state championships…nobody in AA cares about them..and that may be the downfall of JJEF…what do they say…”always respect your adversary”..What are your thoughts on bowl games..Kevin has described all matchup games erroneously as bowl games…not the case as there are 4 bowl games..the Tony Dematteo Bowl, Donald Dematteo Bowl, Gerry Keevins Bowl and Athletic Directors bowl..now, we know its not Syracuse but..if the media gave some positive coverage to any of these..the minnions would follow..Section 1 has lost its way..and FB has suffered..but there are great stories..with Arlington, RCK, MV as revitalized programs..why paint them with the broad brushstroke of joke games???

  113. Just a fact

Football Gods, come out, come out where ever you are??????

Just kidding. I thought the Arlington MV game would be a blow out as well. A lot closer than expected. Kudos to coach Wright and the Knights.

    Dutchess,

to be objective, as Spectator said, the score if anything supports there is not much difference from AA North to AA South, just judging by the SCORE.

Now some of the variables might not be the same. Obviously Arlington has played a tough schedule all year round and that will lead to a team wearing down somewhat by season end. The other factor would be if any of the Arlington players were missing from the game yesterday.

If both teams showed up at full strength, AA South fans can make the argument AA South is better, based on the results of this game. Maybe not top to bottom, but AA South could make the argument that their best three teams overall are better than your best three teams( having the stronger 4-6 teams to me does not matter much) in head to head match ups which would mean:

    1. New Ro vs. Arlington = New Ro

    2. White Plains vs. JJEF = JJEF

    3. Mount Vernon vs. Carmel = Mount Vernon

That’s two out of three for AA South!

Of course you can throw a wrench into this and say RCK over MV. Tough call. Got to love the speculation(blogging)!

  114. Spectator

    Dutchess

I agree with you, but i think that JJEF will come to play. My only referance 4 this being in ‘06 when every1 wrote of MV as a bad team and predicted we’d get thumped JJEF came and played hard and physical. I think the deamenor of the coach is more a determinent on how seriously kids take the game and how much they respect the competition. Last i checked, JJEF still has the same coach so i think they’d treat the game with the proper respect.

When it comes to the bowl games I think the Journal news just doeosnt want to commit the manpower neccessary. Although its been a while since i’ve read the Journal news, I remeber Kevin being the only real consitant reporter, think ric carpinello chipped in here and there to. But it is impossible for kev to put time into all of these games as well as do the other sports to, and for that reason the bowl games suffer. That being said it would be great if the Journal news runs like a season in review page in the paper. It will help them highlight the great stories in section 1 like the ones you mentioned.

  115. Spectator

    Just a fact

I think JJEF WP would b a pik em. WP only losses where to the NR’s. No Roc by 3 (Which JJEF lost by 7). 1 convincing los to new ro and 1 closer than the score says loss to new ro (JJEF lost by 7). Their only other common opponent suffern i threw the game out because suffern got dominated in both games.

  116. Just a fact

    Spectator,

I did not want to shut the AA North out, Dutchess might have gone NUTZ!!!!!

But seriously, I disagree, I think if North Rock played WP two weeks ago, on their home field like JJEF did, North Rock would have beat WP by two TD’s. I saw WP vs North Rock on the computer and that is not the same North Rock team and WP was not that impressive. Plus that was an away game for North Rock. At home, there is always going to be a litle home cooking by the refs for North Rock.

So, I do think JJEF gets the nod over WP, in my book.

  117. Spectator

    Just a fact

Its kind of hard 4 me to guage wp, they didnt play enuff midlevel teams, only MV and suffern. I do however think that JJEF was the most playoff ready team in AA north however they’ve shown an inability to win any close games. I think a wp jjef matchup will be close, wherin lies the difficulty of picking

  118. DutchessFBfan

    Just A Fact,

Of course RCK would win vs MV..did you expect anything less from me????And Carmel just isnt that good!!Didnt Carmel lose to Mahopac and RCK?Your argument is suspect…..at best…why are you such a Carmel apologist…Its not years past where they actually were good…they didnt beat RCK because “it was the first game”..didnt beat MV because “it was meaningless”...let me know when this team shows up to officially play? Then I’ll take them seriously..they lose today and they have a losing season…a losing season at Carmel..come on now???

  119. DutchessFBfan

    Where is CHOKEY????(AKA Chochy)

RCK just rang up 83 points on you in 2 meetings this year…would you like to restate the 27-7 Jameson Pickel tribute????Your track record is…well….crappy!!

  120. DutchessFBfan

    Just A Fact,

Youre slipping..JJEF didnt play WP..they lost to Arlington, Carmel, New Ro and North Rock….momentary lapse of reason??Get in the game!!!

  121. Mahopac Fan

RCK laid a pretty good whupping on JJCR last night.. I saw Cuccia play at Mahopac earlier in the year and he was pretty solid. Not very big or a strong arm, but good accuracy and good feet, very efficient. Is he really RCK’s ALL-TIME leading passer after only one season? He must of thrown for 900-1000 yards at best. I remember when they weren’t very good but they had some QB’s that threw the ball a lot. A comment made earlier about RCK running the Wing-T with Pat Keevins as head coach now and how it held Cuccia back from breaking records reminded me that Gerry Keevins had the section’s all time leading passer for a while in the early 90’s in Greg Gordon.

Doesn’t matter what offense is run, if you got the QB to throw, then you should throw.

Maybe the current Mahopac staff can take a lesson and open it up a little. AA-North is far too competitive to be a one-trick pony.

Congrats to Cuccia on a good year

  122. fbfan

    Mahopac fan,

I made an error. Single season record. 1,100 yds. 11-td. And yes Greg Gordan passed for 2500 yds. his career not one season. Good luck with Mahopac!

  123. Just a fact

    Dutchess,

go back and read PROPERLY. Those were hypothetical picks to prove AA South three best teams would win OVERALL in head to head match ups. Where did I say JJEF WP actually played?????

Maybe I was not clear in that one post. I was referring to North Rock vs. JJEF two weeks ago. If WP played North Rock two weeks ago on North Rocks home field, my thought was North Rock beats WP by two TD’S. JJEF lost only by a TD late.

JJEF, is my favorite North team, so I would not forget who they played or who they lost to. Come on now, you are the one who got me on the AA North bandwagon!!!!!

  124. DutchessFBfan

    Mahopac Fan…..

Greg Gordon(Rutgers),Mahopac 91’ threw for over 2,000 as a senior and was the second to do so in Section 1 since Dave Goodwin(Colgate) of Lakeland and Colgate in 1986…Gordon owns the record now from what I know..could be wrong…but 2,000???Sam Loussedes threw for 353 in a game and Cuccia for over 200…why are we talking about the wing t??These other guys are in a different stratosphere?

  125. DutchessFBfan

    Just A Fact,

Hypothetically…you sound like a Carmel fan!!!I know what you were saying..dont agree…but lets see whos standing at the end of the day????

  126. DutchessFBfan

    Mahopac Fan,

In two games you saw RCK undressed Mahopac in my mind…once at Mahopac with a playoff bid on the line for both teams… and the second with the Don Demmateo Bowl Game on the line…RCK won via air with Cuccia, surprise..they dont throw in the wingt t?...Mahopac had a nice year with a young team….Carmel is down next year..JJEF down…RCK with Sneed and Morgenstern and a huge line(Evans) should compete..JJCR cant compete and Arlington is Arlington….Id say..Mahopac, Arlington,RCK, JJEF, Carmel, JJCR

    DutchesFBfan and Just a fact

I will have to conceed this year it was a great game wasn’t decided until the last minute of the game and if you where there we should’ve won . But that’s H.S. football. Dutchess We appreciate your kind words finally, the kids worked hard and had a respectable season It was a great ride and look forward to the dialogue next year. Time to start the off season!!!! And just for the record MV was without 6 starters when we played wp so with that being said we where in everygame except the second New ro game and they blow everyone out the second time

  128. Zinger

Dutchess FBfan, Spectator, and Just a Fact-

How about you guys trade phone numbers and clear up some space on the blog. Either that, or get a job.

After reading some of your “riveting” back-and-forth…I’m actually starting to miss the escapades of Husky 92!

  129. Just a fact

    Zinger,

    that is pretty funny stuff.

You must be upset since your team does not have any meaningful games left to play, hahahahhahahahaha!!!!!!!

Like I said before, “to the Victor goes the spoils” and that goes for the bloggers as well. Don’t worry maybe your team will be back in it next year.

  130. Just a fact

    Football Gods,

Your team played well at the end. The Knights should be proud, and their fans as well. They certainly bounced back from last year. Thanks for shedding some positive light on the year. I think some of us, including myself, might have got caught up in their bad year last year as well as MV losing to NewRo 2x and White Plains. It is tough to rank AA South teams because they play some real awful teams then have to step up and play a great team in a New Ro. I got to give you credit, because you made this exact point on a previosu blog.

I had the Knights underrated, but they proved myself and others wrong. Congrats on a good year!

  131. Zinger

    Just a fact,

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Oops, sorry, I dozed off reading your last “witty” response.

And put out an APB on DutchessFBfan; he hasn’t posted in the last 30 minutes.

Just having some fun on a slow Friday afternoon…

  132. Zinger

    Just a fact,

I’m not all that upset that my team doesn’t have a “meaningful game” to play this weekend.

After all, that annual drive to Syracuse was getting a little tedious. Plus, I’m over the mileage limit on my Mercedes lease.

Hey, nice chatting with you but I have to run; I have a squash lesson coming up followed by dinner at the Club.

  133. DutchessFBfan

    Zinger,

Do you need a need a passy(pacifier, thought I needed to calrify?)???

  134. DutchessFBfan

    Zinger,

I’ll assume your humor is tongue in cheek…otherwise youre an ass…but I suspect you are trying to rile the old guard?I will not respond going further unless you bring some value to this sight….but give us some facts??Seems youre a closet blogger… are you hoping some day to rise to the level of the aforementionedMeaning Just A Fact and others for the haters

  135. Just a fact

    Zinger,

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ, what did you say? ZZZZZZZZ

I thought I bored you, then right away you respond??!!!!

    Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should OWN instead of LEASE, other wise you sound like your renting to be RICH instead of actually being RICH.

    Can some one say FAGAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  136. Zinger

    DutchessFBFan,

My humor is absolutely intended to be tongue-in-cheek. As mentioned earlier, just trying to have some fun on a slow Friday afternoon.

Hey, where is Dutchess anyway? Is that anywhere near Albany?

  137. RCK Parent

Hey Dutchess and Pac Fan, Give credit where credit is do. RCK controlled their o-line of scrimage in the Pac game and DM Bowl. The run game (fullback 100+ w/2 tds and 100+ w/4tds)allowed the passing game to flourish. GREAT GAME #47!!!

  138. DutchessFBfan

Mr or Mrs Malles… or a family member or just the fan of #47??

Thanks for the feedback..yes your son or relative or friend is very good!! Doesnt that feel better??And since it seems we have a flurry of RCK parents and friends posting as well as family memebers..ie (Sal Cuccia for President posts)..how bout you win gracefully and set a footprint to actually be a team people take seriouslyWin with class…lose with dignity!!!!Baby steps…baby steps!!!!I root more than anyone but give me a break?

  139. loved

Wow that is alot of point JJ defense gave up to a non playoff team.. What happen to the JJ defense of old. It seem like they only put stock into the offense. Remember boys defense wins games.

  140. FBFAN

    DutchessFBfan
I just state facts on what I see and hear from other fans and coaches. Talk about baby steps. what the heck is a memeber? Maybe you should take baby steps and learn how to spell! Did you ever see that SPELL CHECK button?

  141. DutchessFBfan

    FBFAN,

Way to to go…now youre a spelling teacher??I hate when people who should be gracious…. act like asses and now I see it…but then again…RCK has never won anything so maybe you dont know any better…did I spell that correctly( is it an ass or parent of an RCK player or are they both the same???)?Way to go daddy?

  142. DutchessFBfan

    FBFAN,

Just spell checked it…and Im amazed….even there….. you’re still a jackass??WOW!!!Is that spelled correctly professor??????

  143. On Iona!

Husky ‘92, Big Joe et al Husky Fans .. Artie has run the tripple option for years righ? Husky ‘92 I would appreciae your take on the offense you had a chance to see St Joe’s run, how it compares to Artie’s how it differs, etc? Did Harrison run any plays, back in the ‘90’s or now,
like what you had a chance to see St Joe’s run? How in your view do you deffend against St Joe? Thx, On Iona!

  146. FBFAN

    DutchessFBfan,
I am neither a parent or player just a friend of a players parents. As I stated earlier my comments are based on what I see at games and hear from coaches. You called out a parent and commented on what I have stated and you respond and call me a ass and jackass! Real nice.

  147. DutchessFBfan

    FBFAN,

My apologies if you are none of the above. POK by 14 tonight!!
