Week 8 schedule

October
26

Eastchester will travel to Spring Valley today for a game at 3:45 p.m. to finally wrap up Week 7.

Moving on to Week 8, highlighted by the Section 1 semifinals, the Pleasantville-Sleepy Hollow game has officially been set for noon on Saturday. Kennedy at Nanuet, Lakeland at Roosevelt, and both Class AA and both Class C games will be Saturday at 1:30 at the higher seeds. Rye-Poughkeepsie is the only Friday game.

Part of the schedule for this weekend’s non-playoff games has been released.

Here’s what we have (these are all subject to change):

Thursday
Ardsley at Edgemont, 3:30 p.m.
Beacon at Tappan Zee, 6:30 p.m.

Friday
Nyack at Somers, 7 p.m.
Woodlands at Valhalla, 7 p.m.
Gorton at Clarkstown South, 7 p.m.
Clarkstown North vs. Ramapo, at Torne Valley, 7 p.m.

Saturday
Hen Hud at Port Chester, noon
Mahopac at Ketcham, 12:15 p.m.
Pawling at Blind Brook, 1 p.m.
Lincoln Hall at Albertus Magnus 1 p.m.
John Jay at Scarsdale, 1:30 p.m.
Mount Vernon at Carmel, 1:30 p.m.
Byram Hills at Westlake, 1:30 p.m.
Lourdes at Irvington, 1:30 p.m.
Briarcliff at Pelham, 1:30 p.m.

This is all we know so far. I’m still waiting to hear about Harrison-Yorktown and Horace Greeley vs. Eastchester/Spring Valley winner. I also don’t know when/if Ossining-Fox Lane will be.

If you know anything, please share here.

    Kevin,

Can you do a story about the Class AA “Non-Sectional Playoffs”. I was told that the teams that didn’t make the Section 1 Class AA playoffs were paired off in a “Second Tier” playoffs to play in a bowl game the Thursday before the Section Championships. By my calculations, the “Second Chance Final Four” are JJCR vs Scarsdale and Mahopac vs Ketcham, with the winners playing in this “Bowl Game” next Thursday. Can you confirm or deny the existence of these playoffs?
