    Kevin,
    Great show.
Mamaroneck and Scarsdale have not qualified yet. I believe Mamaroneck needs 1 more win, they play each other at Mamaroneck on Monday night. How do you see that playing out?

  2. Interesting

    Kevin,

could you explain these numbers? I am somewhat confused on why there is such a gap between these teams.

  3. ClassCballa

    The numbers go like this….

for every win you get, you earn 4 points towards seeding. If you beat a team of a higher class then you get the 4 points + 1 depending on how much higher the class you defeated was. For example, If a class c school beats a class A school they get 4 + 2 = 6 points towards seeding. so class c’s hamilton for example, is 10 – 4 with a win of AA Mamaroneck and all other wins over class c or lower schools. So the 7 points from the AA win, plus the 36 from the other wins = 43 seeding points. you take that number and divide by the number of games played. 43/14 = 3.07 = the number displayed

  4. ClassCballa

Gaps are a result of a low win/loss ratio vs a high win/loss ratio

  5. fordie

can someone say when iona and ford play on sunday ?

  6. Spoon Man

Do the *’s mean they have not qualified yet?

I heard iona and ford play at noon

  7. The Dude

    fordie,
Iona and Ford play at noon on Super Bowl Sunday at Iona Prep.
Iona and Peekskill was the best game that I saw so far this season. I expect this to be almost as good.

  8. MHoops

I think John Jay East Fishkill is missing from the AA ’*’ list. They are 7-7 and have league games against Arlington, Ketcham and Carmel left.

  9. Westlake Fan

if Westlake finish the season with 9-12 Record, what seed will Westlake be in.

  10. Viking Fan

    Westlake Fan,

If Westlake finishes with a 9-12 record they will not make the playoffs, they will have played too many games. The rules allow for a maximum 20 game regular season schedule. Check your math

  11. Knight

Yall best know Sherrod wright is gonna ball on everyone in section 1

  12. Class C Fan

    Kevin,

keio should be at 1.78 you have not factored in their loss to Dover. They are 6-8.

  13. DF

    Kevin,

The only reason you say Dobbs has bad fans is because its hard to cheer for them when there is never a close game. Once a good game comes along, you better be there. The fans will prove you completely wrong.

  14. pearl river

DF shut up, your fans are probably garbage compared to the fans in rockland. come to a pearl river home game and you’ll see what good fans are

  15. 10980

pearl river, your fans may be great but rockland basketball is terrible. Why do you think the best players head out to the catholic schools in jersey. The only thing worse than rockland basketball is rockland football.

  16. Falcons

    10980,

You seriously are an ignorant piece of trash. You obviously are too moronic to realize that many of the best athletes from Rockland go to the jersey schools. Tyrell Biggs lives in Nanuet, went to a jersey school, and is now playing in the Big East, for example. North Rockland football has been one of the most dominant AA teams in recent memory, not always winning the section, but always being a top contender. There is a high probability that a team from Rockland will win the Class B title in basketball this year (Albertus or Nanuet). I wouldn’t call Rockland the powerhouse of sports but they are most certainly not terrible you clown.

  17. Falcons

Also I misread you’re first statement so you can disregard the first half of my post, but if you’re really from Stony Point, why are you bashing Rockland sports. Be a proud Rocklander!

  18. 10980

falcons, just because you live in stony point does not mean you are from here or went to school here. I also must have touched a nerve, but do not worry because you have a chance to be champs of the b league. In fact AMHS is a first class second rate sports school, outside of girls basketball.

  19. call em as i see em

why don’t all the haters (who have nothing better to do then trash on high school kids…what a pitiful life) stay off the board and allow real and hopefully intellectual conversation about section 1 athletics to take place.

  20. statesman

pk needs to get out that 4 seed and out of MV’s half. 2 or 3 seed is what they need

  21. Peekyhood

Anyone know the time of the Peekskill-Newburgh game on Sat.

  22. Yup

statesman, Pok should want to have Mt. Vernon 1st round. Get the pain over with. No one is beating them. Especially after seeing them on TV Sat vs. St. Ray’s. Peekyhood I believe the game is at 5pm.

  23. mike

dobbs fans your team is good this year i agree, there record shows it at 13-1. if they played in the other leagues against teams they will see in sectionals there is no way they would be 13-1, i could see 9-5, 10-4, playing the likes of magnus, pearl river, nanuet and alos teams like p’ville, lincoln hall, croton, there record would be in my opinion a lot different. i am not taking anything from dobbs, but there level of competition is weaker than the other teams in class b. i wish them well, maybe a semi final appearance but no way a gold ball

  24. Dobbs

Heres some of dobb’s game footage from today:

scroll to the bottom and its the 2nd link

  25. haha

    that was mad funny

  26. kwaku

    kevin,

yonkers is ranked 3rd in A with numbers but 6th in your ranking. care to explain why? i’d really like to know.

  27. inside source

peekskill plays newburgh @ mount saint marys college at 5:00 on staturday

  28. Mike

Bishop Ford v. Iona Prep at 12 noon on Sunday. “Out-of-control” Chaz Williams may score 36, but the Gaels will win 68-58.

  29. Mike

The best view of anything in Rockland County is in the rearview mirror.

  30. yanks

Can Lakeland take out Peekskill in A?

  31. WPPat

    Kevin,

How is it that White Plains 6-3 in Section 1 games coming into your Jan 28 playoff ranking is at 2.00? Shouldn’t it be 4X6 = 24 divided by 9 = 2.67 tied with Arlington.

  32. WPPat

Call em as I see em,

    I love your post.
