Check out this video of the slam dunk contest at the Les Schwab Invitational, the tournament Mount Vernon is competing in in Oregon. There’s a great clip of Jabarie Hinds throwing down a wind-mill.

Mandingo? Is this a joke?
No, it’s actually his name.
Did you see the stands? Not only are they half empty. It is a high school gym?
Someone tell Mount Vernon to get on the bus next year and play in the Slam Dunk if they want to play before a crowd.
MV, Peekskill, White Plains,Iona, and 3 city teams and find someone good upstate. Not Athena/Greece
Best of: I believe that the dunk contest was held separately from the tourney schedule. If so, the crowd at the dunk contest is not indicative of the crowds that attend the games. Some of the best high school tourneys are played in high school gyms and the Les Schwab tourney has some big time teams involved. Perhaps the most competitive HS tourney, the Iolani Classic is played in the small gym of Iolani HS. The comp is more important to the top teams than the crowd size.
That gut from Dominguez is unbelievable.
should have read “guy” from dominguez.
cant believe jabari is throwing it down like that!
Best Of:
last nights crowd at the center was a little more than half full. Maybe you don’t get to see it packed as often as the MV fans do. Hohoho is correct in saying the slam dunk contest was in front of a small crowd. The Fairfax game is about to start and there are about 1500 people in the stands and the MV/Dom game starts later so more are expected. It might not be a sell out, but I don’t think anyone on the court cares. The chances of MV playing in the Slam Dunk Tournament are very slim so don’t get your hopes up.
spacey ..the county center had 2000 people watching. a very good crowd. if you were there i ask why…Go west young man.. better games to see 3000 miles away….
The 2000 fans were only at the Peekskill Iona game. I sat through many of the other games and the crowds were sparse. Having the games at the County Center is better for the fans to see yes, but not necessarily better games for the teams to play in. Those South Shore and Greece Athena games were brutal for fans to watch too. Gorton’s run made the weekend interesting with their coming back from 13 and 18 in the two games they won.
