If you missed it, watching tonight’s Class B state championship between Rye and Oneida. Rye hung on for a 16-12 victory at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse to capture its second straight title and third in four years.
Since the game was tight to the end, I got on the mic and did a little play-by-play for the last seven minutes. Forgive how amateur it is. I just wanted to provide the time and scenario. There’s also a pregame, halftime and postgame report brought to you by Velocity Sports Performance of Westchester.

congrats Rye.. great program..
however, the last football game means its time for basketball!! Peekskill 1-0
Kevin, You did great at color commentary. I smell a career change for you. You also look good on camera. Maybe?
Kevin,
When will the season preview for basketball be published?
Congratulations Rye…the pride of section 1.
okay, oneida could have beat Rye open handedly if kramer didnt overthrow all of his recievers. Oneidas running backs were all too scared and nervous to run, so they mainly did all passing plays. Even though they were still sucking, oneida would have won if it wasnt for that one bull call at the beginning denying them of their second touchdown. so live it up rye, you won by pure luck.
OK Chels you must have missed the numerous phantom calls on RYE that ALWAYS happens in the STATE FINAL and never before… Rye still finds ways to win so go back to syracuse.com with your sour grapes… Congrats Rye and Oneida on great seasons… More importantly Kevin, is it Basketball Season yet?
chels –
A little bit of sour grapes from the bush.
HAHA lol that was the most lopsided 16-12 victory i have ever seen. Oneida was good but everyone saw rye was better
chels,
As you said Kramer overthru his receivers and the running backs were scared and too nervous to run and Oneida would have won but for 1 bad call?????????????????????????
Let’s switch from you to a kid who REALLY IS a strong player with a sense of reality unlike you. In today’s Syracuse Post-Standard Kramer said “Their defense was faster than we expected and “their athleticism and team speed was unbelievable”. Kramer was definitely a kid to be reckoned with!
Without the excess penalties Rye scores at least another 1-2 TD’s.
Chels,
Are you kidding me. Rye manhandled Oneida upfront and Rye played very sloppy. And still won. Oneida was not that good, good QB, but you guys just couldnt hang with rye.
