Varsity Central Live

November

Here’s the reply of Wednesday’s show. Rob Santangelo of Rye was our guest and he did an excellent job. Very funny dude who offered some great insight to Oneida, coach Dino Garr and the Rye locker room. Enjoy.

    Nice shirt…real classy kid

  2. KG

CHSFL- Get a sense of humor…

  3. laxodus

hey buddy its joke and if u really have a problem with it take whatever u have stuck up ur rear end out

  4. NO CLASS?

How does that show no class? The kid is showing love for his coach isn’t he? I really don’t understand where that shows no clasS? That is weird i just think it’s a cool shirt where is the real classy comment coming from? CHSFL please answer.

  5. CHSFL

    NO CLASS –

Are you serious? Are you really that dumb that you don’t understand the meaning of the shirt?

I’m assuming I’m much much older than you guys, so I’m not gonna stress it..You’ll see as you grow up that there are some things that you just don’t do, regardless of the humor behind it.

I guess its one of those things that the CHSFL coaches stress, that the Sec 1 coaches don’t…

  6. CHSFL

Don’t get me wrong…I agree its a funny shirt…just not something you wear on camera when your representing your school and yourself…

How bout wearing the Rye jersey?

  7. Wazzuny88

Is there anyway to view Varsity Central Live from the beginning it seems that mogolus starts it up well into the broadcast?

  8. NO CLASS?

CHSFL-Hey Buddy how does is show no class? I just don’t get it. And don’t try to act smart by saying your older than us. And Dino Garr and Tommy Maloney are much better coaches and people than Vic Quirolo is, so don’t start on the coaching. Why do you think kids leave Iona?

  9. ballboy

Being a former high school football coach and a current high school basketball coach I have to agree with CHSFL. I am not that old (in my late 20’s) but the shirt is in poor taste. While the shirt is pretty funny, when you are given an opportunity to represent you school, community, and family, that would not exactly be the shirt that I picked out for the occasion. There is a time and a place for everything, just not the time or the place for that shirt

ball boy get the stick out of your butt…. lets hate on rye cuz they would dump on iona suwu

  11. Section One

Exuse me, if you would like too see “no class”, watch a pratice by Vic Qurilo, I had a cousin in the program who has explained the out of color things he says. I wouldnt count on him to help you with off the feild ssues either. From what I have herd, quit frankly, CHSFL coachs and assitants are degrading. If this young man whats to wear a Dino Garr shirt, calling him a legand, so be it. Mr. Garr is classfied as a legand. He is a member of the Westchester Hall of Fame, over 300 wins, sic stright section one champions, two state championship rings and can possibly add another to his hand this weekend. If that is not a legand, then please explin to me what is. Coaches all over New York and the college ranks respect this man very highly. Let these kids have fun, they are still in HIGH SCHOOL, and they are showing respect for the coaches. Any coach on this blog, how would you feel if your player called you a legand? I know if one of my players did, I would feel pretty good

  12. Rob Santangelo

Hey all u whiners if u have a problem with the shirt i wore on the show then why dont u take it up with me instead of crying about it on the blogs….grow up its a joke plus dino is a legend who could argue with that…if anyone else has a problem why dont u come to syracuse and we can talk about it..and u can judge if im classy or not

  13. NO CLASS?

    TEEt hahah

  14. CHSFL

haha wow , you really are a bunch of naive idiots!!

It’s not a shirt honoring Dino! Theres an arrow pointing down to the kids junk!

Rob Santangelo – If that really was you on the post. Hopefully you’ll look back a few years from and learn from your poor choice and lack of good judgement.

As for Coach Vic, I never worked with him before. However, I know for a fact that coaches like Mike O’Donnel and Mario Valenti would not let that fly.

  15. CHSFL

I must apologize…I didn’t see the video from the very beginning because of how the mogulus thing starts up in the middle of the broadcast..

Anyway, the part of the video that I saw was when Santangelo was sitting in the other chair..and the view blocked off Dino’s picture on the shirt.

When I’m wrong, I say I’m wrong. My sincere apologies.

  16. Sniff OUt

Hey Rob Santangelo how are people going to take it up with you. Not everyone in the Tri state has “The Great Rob Santangelo’s” phone number.

  17. Kevin Devaney Jr.

Just so everyone is aware, Rob’s shirt had a picture of Rye coach Dino Garr on the bottom where the arrow points to ‘THE LEGEND’ It’s not the ‘traditional’ version of the shirt and is meant to be an tribute to Garr.

  18. CHSFL

    NO CLASS

kids leave Iona because the school is no fun and theyre not good enough to get the playing time they want

  19. jim

How quick some people are to re-act or should I say over re-act. I thought Rob did a great job on the show. He complimented kids from both Rye and other teams, and never acted cocky, even when asked if his team could beat Iona he gave the perfect answer. I’m glad CHSFL apologized, but how could you and others try to bring down a 17 year old kid and his coaches about a freaking tee shirt…maybe you guys should pay more attention to the content of the charachter and the obvious gentlemanly behavior he demonstrated on the show rather than what he wore….it’s not like he was going on Meet The Press…and it turns out that all along he was only trying to give his coach a boost. Sad.
