Know the opponents: State semis

Posted by: Kevin Devaney Jr. - Posted in Uncategorized on Nov 17, 2008

Here we are, another week and all five Section 1 teams are still alive in the state tournament.

The action continues this weekend at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, beginning on Friday afternoon. Here’s a quick briefing on each of the opponents, based on information I’ve seen, read or gathered from people around the state.

STATE SEMIFINALS
Class AA
New Rochelle (10-1) vs. Section 9’s Monroe-Woodbury (10-0)
When:
Saturday, 8 p.m. at Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Five things to know about Monroe-Woodbury:
1. Monroe is almost like an adopted Section 1 team. It’s the premier program in Section 9 and has knocked off the team from this area in the state tournament three years in a row, including the last two versus New Rochelle. Last year’s game was a nail-biter as Monroe turned a late turnover into the winning score. Monroe, state champs in 2005, lost in the final the last two years. It has dominated Section 9 competition in recent years, winning 42 straight games. However, it only beat Newburgh Free Academy 16-7 in the final.
2. Dan Scalo is a freakish athlete who was born to run this type of spread offense. The junior quarterback started last season and has rushed for 1,237 yards and 16 touchdowns in 10 games, and thrown for 888 yards and eight scores. He’s 6-foot-2, 190.
3. Having seen this Monroe team on television a month ago, I can tell you first-hand Monroe isn’t quite as good defensively as it was last year. While they’re fast in the secondary, the Crusaders don’t swarm to the ball or having the imposing players in the middle of their defense — at least not compared to last year, which was a special group.
4. The most talented player on Monroe’s roster might actually be its kicker. Jamie Boyle has committed to Central Florida. He has 11 field goals this season and had made 83 consecutive extra points before missing in the Section 9 final. He’s just as dangerous on kickoffs and in the punting game, angling his kicks and booting the ball to almost exact distances.
5. On Sept. 19, Monroe beat La Salle Institute, the team New Rochelle romped 33-7 in the state quarterfinal. Monroe beat La Salle 26-7 but trailed 7-6 at the half. LaSalle’s Mike Murray had 118 yards passing (only 16 vs. New Rochelle) and Marquis Terrell had 84 yards rushing, eight more than against New Ro.
For more info: The Varsity845 web site has a lot of information. There’s also a Monroe football site.
Up next: The winner faces either Section 4’s Binghamton or Section 6’s Orchard Park in the state final at the Carrier Dome in Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.

Class A
Nyack (10-1) vs. Section 2’s Burnt Hills (11-0)
When:
Friday, 8 p.m. at Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Five things to know about Burnt Hills:
1. If stats are your thing, then get a load of these numbers: Burnt Hills has put up 491 points in 11 games (44.6 avg.) and averages 374.5 yards per contest. It scored 40 points or more in its first eight games, and hit 60 against Lansingburgh, last year’s state finalists.
2. Burnt Hills knocked off Indian River (Section 7/10) in the quarterfinals, 35-12. It was a 21-12 game entering the fourth before pulling away at the end. It beat Bishop Maginn the previous week, 19-0, in its lowest scoring effort of the season.
3. As many have stated already, senior quarterback Paul Layton is a phenom. The third-year starter has thrown for 1,097 yards (58 for 99) and 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions. The 6-1, 210-pounder also has rushed for 1,013 yards and 19 scores, averaging 10.6 yards per carry. In the state quarterfinal win over Indian River, Layton had a career night. He was 7 for 111 passing for 118 yards and a score, and rushed 16 times for 189 yards and three touchdowns.
4. Keaton Flint is Layton’s favorite target. He’s caught 22 passes for 474 yards and eight scores. Flint is a 5-foot-9, 165 pound sophomore. Erik Vuillaume is a solid option out of the backfield. He’s rushed for 594 yards and 11 touchdowns.
5. Burnt Hills was in the state tournament only once before, in 2006, where it lost in the quarterfinals. Layton was quarterback of that team and won’t be fazed by the magnitude of this game.
For more info: The Albany Times-Union site has all the stats and information you could ever want.
Up next: The winner will meet the winner of Corning West (Section 4)-Sweet Home (Section 6) at the Dome on Nov. 29 at 5 p.m.

Class B
Rye (11-0) vs. Section 2’s Hudson Falls (10-1)
When:
Saturday, 4 p.m. at Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Five things to know about Hudson Falls:
1. Of all the teams Section 1 is up against this weekend, Hudson Falls has faced the toughest competition from week to week. Unlike Rye, Hudson Falls wasn’t a favorite to win Section 2. It lost in the regular season Schalmont and was picked by many to lose its quarterfinal game in the Section 2 tournament.
2. Hudson Falls is an offensive powerhouse. It’s averaging 33 points and 343.5 yards per game.
3. Joe McMurry, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back, has been incredible. He’s rushed for a Section 2 single-season record of 2,451 yards and 31 touchdowns. He’s had at least 233 yards in eight games. Yes EIGHT. His season-low was 55 against Scalmont, but is coming off a 234-yard effort against Ravena in the Section 2 final and 265 yards and three scores against Beekmantown in the state quarters. Last year McMurry rushed for 435 yards in a win over Albany Academy, which beat Rye in the state semifinals the year before.
4. Hudson Falls runs a lot behind 6-foot-7, 305-pound tackle Tim Hammond. With McMurry, why do anything but run the ball, right? Hudson Falls throws it a little bit. Bret Melon has 635 yards passing and 11 touchdowns, and is coming off a season-high 145 yards against Beekmantown.
5. The win over Beekmantown was pretty impressive. Hudson Falls scored touchdowns on three of its first eight offensive plays and on its first seven possessions overall. It led 28-0 after the first quarter and 48-14 at the half. How good Beekmantown is is almost irrelevant. To do that to any championship-calibert team is impressive enough.
For more info: Hudson Falls has plenty of stats and information on the Times-Union site. Pete Tobey of the Glens Falls Post Star does a great job on his blog and has full detail of the last Hudson Falls games.
Up next: The winner of Bath (Section 5) and Oneida (Section 3) awaits in the final in the Dome at 1 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Class C
Croton-Harmon (10-1) vs. Section 7’s Saranac Lake (10-1)
When:
Saturday, noon at Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Five things to know about Saranac Lake:
1. Saranac Lake, which beat Section 2’s Watervliet 14-7 in overtime to get here, is a spread offense team that, in most cases, runs the ball out of the formation more than passes.
2. Ogdensburg beat Saranac Lake 22-0 in the regular season before Saranac winning the rematch in the Section 7 final, 33-20. Sound familiar? Croton’s only loss in the regular season was to Westlake, the team the Tigers beat in the Section 1 championship.
3. Saranac running back Jon Barge is one of the region’s top runners. He’s a bruising 6-foot-2, 200-pounder and has been labeled a “sledgehammer” by his team. Short-yardage plays almost always go to him, and he’s the perfect straight-ahead runner in the spread.
4. Steve Burpoe will be a difficult matchup for Croton. He’s 6-foot-4 and has 612 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. Of those yards, 350 have came in the postseason and six touchdowns. A tough, physical player the Tigers must constantly keep tabs on. He caught both touchdowns in the quarterfinal.
5. Saranac Lake was last in the state tournament in 1998 when it lost to Edgemont, 41-25, in the semifinal. It lost in the state final in 1995, and went 1-3 combined in 91-93.
For more info: Saranac Lake has their own website, which you can view here. The newspaper that covers the team is The Press Republican.
Up next: The winner squares off against the winner of Section 4’s Elmira Notre Dame and Section 6’s Southwestern on Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

Class D
Tuckahoe (8-2) vs. Section 7’s Moriah (11-0)
When:
Friday, 4 p.m. at Dietz Stadium, Kingston
Five things to know about Moriah:
1. Moriah is making its first state tournament appearance since 2001, back when it lost in the opening round in seven of eight seasons. Moriah shut out Renssselaer in the quarterfinals for its sixth shutout of the season.
2. The offense revolves around Jim Carlson, Moriah’s senior running back. He scored all three touchdowns on 193 yards rushing in the 19-0 win over Rensselaer. He gets more than half the touches on offense.
3. Carlson is also dangerous as a kick returner and a receiver. He returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown in the Section 7/10 semifinals. He also caught a couple of passes against Rensselaer, and leads Moriah with 12 receptions.
4. Tuckahoe had trouble stopping Chester through the air at times last week, which Moriah will certainly try to exploit. QB Tyler Blaise completed less than 50-percent of his passes this season and only three touchdowns.
5. Defensively, Moriah has been stout all season. It allowed 88.9 yards rushing and 73.9 passing this season, and has intercepted 14 passes. It’s also very good on special teams. It blocked two kicks, including a field goal as time expired, against Ticonderoga in the Section 7/10 championship. Ticonderoga had reached the state tournament the previous two years.
For more info: The Press Republic covers Moriah.
Up next: The winner faces defending champion Walton (Section 4) or Section 6’s Maple Grove on Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Dome in the final.

As always, I appreciate any link to a story or video you can find online. You’ve done a great job already. Keep them coming.

I’ll also be taking in-depth look at the CHSFL championships — Iona Prep vs. St. Anthony’s and Stepinac vs. Holy Trinity — over the next few days. It’s a huge week of football on tap.

  1. CrotonFan

    Hey Kevin,

Who does Dobbs Ferry play this week?

  2. Speaking of the Numbers

Looking at http://timesunion.com/highschoolsports/football/team.asp?TeamID=482&SportID=1&TeamName=Burnt%20Hills … I feel that Burnt Hills is like an Ossining, they can run and pass.

The QB #15 Paul Layton averages about 9 throw attempts a game (he threw 11 times against Indian River). He has thrown for 1097 yards and 12 passing TDs. He has also rushed for 1013 yards and 19 TDs (this guy is probaly better then Kreamer). He carried the ball 16 times for 189 yards and 3 TDs against Indian River. He is a dual threat. I think Nyack matches up against him better then they did against Adruino

The HB #33 Erik Vuillaume (5’8’’ 170 lbs.) has 88 carries for 594 rushing yards and 11 TDs (their Dom Leonard likely)

The other HB #22 Brandon Beatty (5’11’ 180 lbs.) has 37 carries for 352 yards and 5 TDs

Their “do it all” guy #38 Nick Henderson (5’9’’ 170 lbs.) has 54 carries for 524 rushing yards (averaging 9 yards a carry) and 6 Rushing TDs. He also has 6 receptions for 132 yards and 1 TD (22 yards a catch)... He is clearly the X-FACTOR and they will look to him when they need a spark outside of Layton. I imagine he returns kicks and punts. He and Layton will dictate this game for Burnt Hills

The WR #2 Keaton Flint (5’9’’ 165 lbs, real Wes Welker like) has 22 catches for 474 yards and 8 touchdowns (3 of the TDs came from a 60-14 win over Lansingburgh)... Only a sophomore, he may be rattled by a game of this magnitude

Their offense rushing is # 6 the state with 3013 rushing yards (Indian River was # 1 with 4297 yards, Nyack is # 10 in the state in total rushing yards). They have big and beefy offensive lineman (probaly arent that fast though)

Just like Cornwall this team rallies around their QB. He is what makes them go. He is a runner and a passer, he averages 99 passing yards a game and 92 rushing yards. He knows how to find the end zone though with 31 total TDs. He single handily beat Indian River on his own.

With the way this team runs, I think this is a much better matchup for Nyack. Look for Nyack’s defensive line to get real scrappy next week. I think the secondary is good enough to matchup with the QB

  3. 10960

    Here’s some numbers for ya

    10-1

    final 4

    Goooooooooo NYACK!!!!!!

  4. 10960

Though I hate the close Nail biter games….. its an amazing feeling when they’re in your favor….. The way the fans spill into the field is such an amazing site to see. That Cornwall game was one for the ages.

  5. BH!!

Paul Layton is the real deal, best Class A QB in the state. To the “They have big and beefy offensive lineman (probaly arent that fast though)” Comment, yes they are big, but they are very fast and extremely strong. BH will dominate both sides of the line up front. Burnt Hills probably has the best defense in all of Class A. Nyack will find that out Friday Night. The Spartans have an outstanding defensive line and line backing core that kept Curtis Dukes out of the endzone and forced him in to numerous turnovers with their big hit ability. Layton is tremendous under center and will lead the Spartans to a victory Friday Night!

  6. POWER HOUSE

    10960,

YOU MUST’VE LOVED THE LOUISVILLE RUTGERS GAME. THAT WAS WHAT I CALL A FIELD RUSH. BEAUTIFUL. WHEN HARRISON FINALLY DEFEATS RYE I THINK THE STANDS ARE GOING TO EMPTY ONTO THE FIELD AS WELL.

  7. Speaking of the Numbers

according to Simpson. Ossining, Somers, and Cornwall were all better then Bishop and Troy.

He says Burnt Hills will not make mistakes. They are very disciplined which Nyack has showed a lack of lately.

BH is not as good passing wise as Cornwall was, but they will run and pass just like Ossining. I think that works to Nyack advantage. He says the will prefer to run the sweep to the outside, which is good and a lot of QB keepers inside & out. They get big chunks of yardage on their misdirection plays, like ossining does.

Nyack being aggressive might hurt them a little bit, BH might try to run misdirections, screens, and short passes in the flats (which kill Nyack)

Simpson also says Leyton is very experienced and follows through on his fakes which makes their offense look deceptive.

I basically said exactly what Simpson said on the State semifinal schedule post

  8. WingtGuy

    BH,

What kind of defense do they run?

Who are the top lineman on both sides of the ball?

I am sure that Layton is a great QB, but Nyack just played the best QB in Class A in NYS. Layton might be close, but I doubt he is as good as Arduino.

If he is we will all be on here praising him on Saturday. I just can’t imagine it.

Nyack is strong on the run game both offense and defense. It should be an interesing game. It appears this is true of both teams.

  9. Fantasy FB

You think Layton is even better then Adruino? I thought Adruino might have been the best in the states.

The more and more you feed me about this BH teams really makes me like their chances more and more. Sometimes Nyack doesn’t fire out off the line and stay on their blocks, just watch the harrison film from the first round.

The BH giants can move, Nyack may be in trouble!

Paul Layton and BH lost here on this same stage to years ago, he is now a senior and won’t be phased by the magnitude of this game, don’t you think it just destiny that they go to the state championship. It is going to be a story book ending for these guys. These guy’s will be saying “we have to finish what we started 2 years ago, we got to make things right for those seniors 2 years ago and our program”... Nyack will be saying things along the lines of “were one win away from the dome, we got to make it to the dome,we’ve come to far to lose now” Even last week Castellano said he did envision being in this posistion. Nyack will be basing everything basing everything on the dome, although they will not overlook BH. They are just to infatuated with the dome.

Go to Maxpreps and look up the BH records the past couple of seasons, and look up Nyacks. You tell me who deserves to be here more?

BH has seen the future, they will win this game. 10960 I am guarenteeing that. I’m no expert 10960, but I can almost see this one playing over and over again in my head. No way a team wins 3 close games in a row. Look at Nyack 04’, 14-7 win over brewster, 20-19 win over Harrison, 18-21 lost to wallkill.

Nyack is exhausted. BH has been resting starters since august 21st

  10. Fantasy FB

For pete’s sake BH held the top rushing and scoring team in Indian River to 12

  11. Jax

Nyack held somers to 7. If Somers would of kept their starters in the whole game, maybe somers would have had the best rushing offense in the state

  12. 10960

    Jax,

Great point. These upstate schools sure no how to run up the numbers…. Imagine how much more yards, touchdowns and so forth the top section 1 teams would have if they kept their starters in.

We’d look just as scary. Nyack could’ve added another 1500 yards to their offense by simply playing the third….

Gimme a break guys….. the numbers are misleading

  13. wolfie

I agree totally with Jax …they love to run up numbers up there and they often play truely terrible teams. I remember in ‘05 rye had to play this lancingburg team (now in “A”) that was beating teams 69 to 20 and so forth. they had truely increible offensive nombers that were downright scary. same thin with Peru last year. Well, in the Lancingburg game I think it was 34 -0 when Rye put it’s second team in in the 3rd quarter!!!

That said New rocheele gets it revenge finally 24-20

Won’t bet against Nyack again…they match up well with a tough, underated BH team Nyack 27-20

Unless Rye comes out flat and sloppy..this should not be close Rye 38-13

Croton on a great run, but it ends here 27-21

Tuckaho …. same as Croton 34-27 ( could go either way though)

  14. 10960

Hey I been watching some videos throughout the season…. as most of you may know, I probably have the most Nyack game film outside of the coaching Staff LOL…

Anyway I’d like to give notice to #14 of Nyack.. I believe its Jerry Wisdom…. Totally the Nyack Hype man. He comes to games with pure intensity and maintains it throughout. If you could add his fire to every player on the team, Nyack would beat BH by 40. Thats the 10960 unsung hero of the day.

He’s a Junior by the way

  15. Fantasy FB

Somers scored 60 twice this year. Don’t give me crap about the second team doing it. Lombardo scored the 62nd point against Poughkeepsie. I do agree that Ossining and Somers were probably better then Bishop, Troy, and Indian River though

  16. section 1 fan

For all of you people saying BH ran up the score and left their starters in your dead wrong. Layton didn’t play more than 2.5 quarters until they played Troy in the section 2 semis. In fact the talk up here was that BH would be disadvantage in the playoffs because none of their starters had played more than 2.5 quarters in any game.

With that said this should be a great game to watch. BH’s defense is nasty. Their D-ends and linebackers are huge, strong and fast and most importantly disciplined. I’ve watched alot of HS football and this is the best defense I’ve ever seen.

  17. 10960

    section 1 fan,

Can you confirm your statement?? What are your sources that say they don’t??

  18. Jax

Section 1 fan your obviously not a section 1 fan. you know too much. give it up your from section 2…

You gave it away with your the “talk up here”

Change your name to section 2 fan

  19. section 1 fan

My brother lives up there and my nephew plays for one of their rivals. I was at the lansingburgh game and BH’s starters didn’t play more than one series in the second half. Lansinburgh’s first team was in the entire game. I was also at the troy game and BH’s LB’s laid some of the biggest hits I’ve ever seen on troy’s top flight RB Fitch. Like I said this is going to be a very physical game.

  20. Purple Haze

Those Monroe boys stay too advanced, how Johnny let the game slip through his hands(hell you do that). When my song comes on they do the dance (do the daaannnce)! We got New Ro tattoed on our a*s. Got a foreign car, the new coupe is black (coupe is blaccccck), aint no limit to what we do for the win.

Monroe-Woodbury – 17, New Rochelle – 6. There is no number 21 Walker to get a piggy back ride from this time around

New Ro old news, Monroe here now

  21. 10801

Walker had one td last game thats it. If you really think walker was the only reason new ro should have won that game last year your a moron. And what kind of thug lives in orange county stop rapping

  22. Cooper Manning

I am a big BH fan/alum and it is absolutely true they did not keep their starters in to run up the scores. In two games (Scotia and SGF) Layton came out in the FIRST qtr. In six other games (including the 60-14 blowout of Lansingburgh), he was out before or just after the first series in the second half. It wasn’t until BH came across Troy, Maginn, and Indian River that the starters played the whole game.
Having said that, both teams have had quality wins the last few weeks, but Nyack def has played the tougher opponents. It’s not BH’s fault they haven’t played teams like Ossining and Cornwall, it’s just the way the schedule works out.
I have only seen parts of Nyack’s win last week but I am really impressed with their team speed. I am really excited for a great game this weekend. Good Luck to all!

  23. NRHSNEWRO

    New Ro 21 – Monroe 13

    New Ro – 2 offensive 1 defensive TD’s
    Monroe – 1 TD 2 Field goals

  24. Kevin

I’m from Section 2, and great job with the previews. One correction on Hudson Falls: McMurry is not the Section 2 season rushing record holder yet; the record is 2596, which he’s angling to break this weekend. And you’re right and wrong that HF wasn’t expected to get out of the section…the Tigers were the prohibitive preseason favorite in Class B, mainly because of McMurry, but heading into the playoffs they were one of four teams with two losses or fewer in a big logjam.

To the comments: Burnt Hills had their starters out by halftime pretty much every game this year. Of course, Section 2 play is certainly not nearly as deep as the leagues downstate, but Troy and Maginn would have been good enough to win our section most years. Should be a great game this weekend.

  25. KEvin..

Its been a week since basketball has startrd give us something..Who is the new coach at Woodlands, Clark ? Is Port Chester going down the same road with Lou Larizza Sr. as a assistant coach? Who are the pre-season favorites? Throw us a bone please!!!

  28. Upstates GREAT!

BH has a tremendous D, 5 shut outs on the year! Lay the Lumber on every hit! Listen to you section 1 fools saying the stats are padded, all those stats came before half time. BH has out scored opponents an average of 45-3. The proof is in the pudding, Nyack is in for a world of hurt. Coach Matt Shell is one of the best and classiest coaches in all of NY State. Paul Layton is a million times better than Arduino and you’ll see that Friday night when your jaws are dropping saying “Wow” He averages 10 yards per rush, and has only thrown 2 ints all year. Layton is great under center and doesn’t make mistakes like Nyack will make.

  29. nyack forever

If Paul Layton is a million times better than Kevin Arduino, than he must be Tom Brady in a Burnt Hills uniform! Please get real.

  30. simpson

    million times better?

Based on that I guess the rest of your comments can be taken with a grain of salt.

  31. Kalel 8

It’s Great To Be A Croton Tiger !!!!!

Well I did my homework. Checked all the stats for both Croton Tigers and Saranac Lake. This is going to be a nail biting game. I give the win to Croton 21 (7-7-7) and Saranac Lake 19 (6-6-7).

Saranac Lake has three excellent players – BARGE – BURPOE AND SWEET.. The rest of the team is very good. The head coach from Saranac Lake did not post individual stats though. As far as team stats – Croton wins…

We have a lot of speed, strength and toughness. Croton stay focused – forget that we “Sanked the Ferry” “Drained the Lake” and “Burned the Devil’s”

“Croton will be a Category 5 Hurricane and turn the Saranac Lake into a tropical Red Storm”

It’s Great to Be a Croton Tiger !!!!!!

  32. Fantasy FB

Nyack is going down. They have never played a defense who is quick, fast, and swarms to the ball like they do. Nyack will face a mirror image of themselves on defense on friday. Anthony Davis is not going to be able to grind it out this time around. He will be getting hit in the backfield a majority of the time. Nyack will need to look more to Leonard and Constant to start working the outside and getting huge Chunkks of Carries. Nyack better be ready to get hit, becuase the BH guys are going to hit them

Might I add that Nyack too has some shutouts. Nyack starters were out by the first quarter for most of their games. Also BH Lansingburgh was 42-0 at the half, why was did Layton play the first series in the second half. Nyack usually took starters out by 21-0, anyone can confirm this

I still stick to my prediction of Nyack losing though! This BH defense is too mean

  33. Upstate Fan

I just wanted to post this article for all of you High School football fans. This shows what type of coach Burnt Hills has in Matt Shell and what type of kid Paul Layton is. Sometimes we take things for granted and this just really puts things in perspective…..Good Luck to both teams on Friday night!

    http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=740519&category=HSFOOTBALL

  34. Upstates GREAT!

    Simpson, Nyack Forever,

Just watch Layton run Rupshaw Friday night giving Nyack’s defense fits all night. Layton will run for 150+ and a couple TDs, throw for 100 + with a couple TD’s. Nyack has squeaked by, Burnt Hills has won with pure Domination.

My prediction, Burnt Hills Rolls over Nyack 35-7 on their way to the dome!

  35. 10960

I’m loving the talk right now…. We’ll see what happens. Should Nyack win… You’ll never hear the end of it… You pathetic front runners. Go root for your Burnt hills team. Including you section 1 guys who cant seem to “hop off”.

  36. simpson

    Fantasy FB

Have you seen BH play this season?

  37. simpson

    Upstates GREAT?

Have you seen Nyack play this season?

  38. Upstate Fan

The first half is close but BH wears down Nyack in the 2nd half and wins 31-14.

  39. Cooper Manning

I love BH, but I’m not sure how my fellow upstaters can be saying the things they are saying about BH blowing out Nyack when Nyack has been battling top notch opponents all season and winning. Layton and the BH D are having a great season, no doubt, but so is Nyack, otherwise they wouldn’t be here. I’m looking forward to a great game.

  40. Footballgiant

    10960 you have some sense.

Take a look at this video. Do you see any MONSTERS? I sure dont.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nJe42QrqBY

To all you BH ball suckers…don’t be surprised when Nyack wins this game. I was against 10960 gloating at one point, but now I am not. I hope he posts so much that the thread explodes.

  41. NyackGuy

Burnt Hills stats are nothing short of impressive, but i doubt that they played a schedule nearly as tough as Nyack’s. On the road to the Final Four, Nyack has faced 2 Top 10 Class A teams, and faced arguably the best QB in the state. Will that being said, good luck to Burnt Hills and here’s to hoping for no serious injuries.

  42. just wait

Just wait until upstate runs into the Section 1 freight reain this weekend. New Ro, Nyack and Rye, three of the most storied programs in the state are going to lay the smack down hard!

  43. Upstates GREAT!

    Nyack Guy,

BH has played 2 top 8 teams in the state the past 2 weeks and won Handily! Nyack is in trouble.

  44. guy

    upstate is big,slow and sluggish.

    Upsate = the big 10

    Section 1 = SEC

  45. 10960

    Upstates GREAT!,

Your right, upstate is great. The upstate in the Rochester, Syaracuse area… thats the great upstate I know….

    Section 4 and 5

otherwise, everywhere else is garbage….. Section 2 only has 2 state championship in the history of all schools in that entire section….. so I hope you wasn’t including them in that greatness.

section 2 – two state championships

    Section 1 – 20 of 30

    where’s the greatness??

  46. Pete Tobey

    Kevin,
Aha, we meet again at Dietz Stadium! Hope to see you on the sidelines Saturday…

This is an annual thing for Kevin and I this time of year—it always seems at least one of my teams gets to this point against the inevitable Section I opponent.

I just wanted to point out our Post-Star football stats here—they are more accurate than the Times Union’s for Joe McMurry of Hudson Falls.

    http://www.poststar.com/sports/ps_varsity/stats/?sport_id=5&show=leaders

Also, McMurry’s season rushing total of 2,477 yards is not a Section II record—the record is 2,596 yards by Lansingburgh’s Kareem Jones in 2003. McMurry is third all-time in both single-season and career (5,108 yards)...

  47. 10960

    only section 5 matches us

  48. Fantasy FB

no i have not seen BH play.

  49. Pete Tobey

    Kevin,

See The Post-Star stats site at http://www.poststar.com/sports/ps_varsity/football/ for more accurate numbers on Hudson Falls TB Joe McMurry… McMurry is currently third all-time in Section 2 history in single-season (2,477 yards) and career (5,108 yards) rushing yardage… his season total is not the Section 2 record—that’s 2,596 yards by Lansingburgh’s Kareem Jones in 2003…

    See you Saturday!

  50. Pete Tobey

Correction: Section 2 has won six state championships… Troy in 1996 (Class A) and 1998 (Class AA), Amsterdam in 1995 (Class B) and 2005 (Class A), Watervliet in 1996 (Class C) and Cambridge in 1999 (Class D). Section 2 is 6-18 all-time in state championship games. Not elite, not great, but certainly more than two titles.

  51. Pete Tobey

Kevin, check your numbers on Hudson Falls’ Joe McMurry—our Post-Star stats are a little more up-to-date than the Times Union’s… McMurry has 2,477 yards rushing (31 TDs rushing, 33 overall) this season, but that’s not the Section 2 single-season record (2,596 yards by Lansingburgh’s Kareem Jones in 2003 is the record)... McMurry also has 5,108 rushing yards (and 62 TDs) in his career—he’s third all-time in Section 2 history in both single-season and career rushing…

  52. purplewave99

CLASS AA FINAL IS AT 3PM, NOT 1PM.

  53. purplewave99

Why so much Nyack talk? Lets hear more about class AA.

I picked New ro to beat Lasalle 27-6, I guess I gave Lasalle too much respect.

    Anyway,

New Rochelle 21 Monroe Woodbury 20

Were Headed back to the DOME!

  54. 10960

alright alright alright…. 6 titles LOL

  55. scary

Burnt Hills looked great this year, but it is hard to tell how strong they really are because they play section 2 competition. This game is hard to call because of the difference in competition.

  56. Jax

Nyack is getting ready for a war

  57. Erik Sec. 309

    Croton 28 Saranac Lake 13

  58. 5334457887980689

all you people thinking new rochelle will beat Monroe woodberry make me laugh …..wat does new rochelle have beside McGee n Williams….........0

n we have 2 years of proof sayin new rochelle doesnt have a chamnce

  59. CHSFL

Everybody don’t bother going to the New Ro Monroe Woodbury game. New Ro is not a balanced team they depend solely on their backs and only 2 or 3 to be exact. Monroe Woodbury will be able to exploit their weaknesses by running through their Lines. This is the first good team New Ro will face and without an NFL caliber player they will crumble like every year since Ray Rice let the program off his back.
If they want to be able to beat these up state teams they need to get a better schedule so they can practice against some good teams not teams that can barely put together a team for the game.

  60. CHSFL

The real game too watch is @4:00 on LI two great programs putting it all on the line

  62. NewRo'sDynasty

purple wave- i absolutley agree with you
enough with the nyack talk…how bout some AA news..give some respect to NewRO

New Ro will beat scalo and monroe woodbury. Heres why : New Ro should have beat MW last year if Mcgee doesnt turn the ball over in the last minute of the game. The New Ro defense is an elite group, much better then last year. If New Ro’s defense has improved, and MW’s defense has diminished the edge goes to New Ro.
New Rochelle 21 Monroe Woodbury 14

Kevin- my hat goes off to you. In the summer you picked New Rochelle to win, and even when they were stinking up the joint you still stayed with them. Very impressive.
To all the bandwagon jumpers- lets just hope you stay on for more then one game

  63. NewRo'sDynasty

To CHSFL- your extremely off base
and to 55243143141 whatever the numbers were…your comment makes ME laugh !
New Rochelle has more then Mcgee and williams. How bout David Ugarte, how bout Jamal Fernandez, how bout Jana, how bout Shawn Day, Jeremy Days…the entire New RO defense !
if you wanna make a comment…do your homework !

  64. Kevin

Pete: Yeah, I know…my point was that he’s not the record holder yet either way.

  65. NewRo'sDynasty

I hate to keep posting comments ..BUT for my friend who gives new ro no credit

Yes monroe has beaten New Ro twice…but lets be serious here..the only one Monro deserved to win was the 14-7 game.
If Johnny Mcgee doesnt fumble…MW doesnt get the ball in the redzone…MW doesnt win.

  66. NewRo'sDynasty

and not to beat you over the head with facts 533344211 etc

New Rochelle beat Monro two years in a row too..and quite handly…i believe the score was 42-0…and 42-0
like i said…just do your homework before you make outlandish comments that make you look foolish

  67. Upstate Fan

As an upstate/section 2 fan can you guys tell me about Nyack? Who are their good players? What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses? I heard their game last Friday night was pretty exciting.

I’m looking forward to what should be a very close game Friday night at Dietz.

  68. NewRo'sDynasty

correction not two years in a row..they beat mw in 2000 and 2004

  69. Tree

First off I am not a new rochelle fan or section 1 fan. I think nyack is going to get spanked by burnt hills. But i see New RO as the favorite against MW. MW is not as good as they were last year and New ro has more than mcghee and williams. Ian solomon the 6’3 300 pd. OL was the best in section 1.

  70. football giant

10960 ignore all these clowns. I tried to post a link earlier today that showed Burnt Hills, but my post didn’t go through. They whooped up on a team that looked like Pearl River. They are not monsters, or that big. And the great Qb is nothing more than a solid runner. His arm is average. He is not half the player Arduino is. So anyone who compares them is FOOLISH.

No one also seems to be mentioning when Burnt Hills played IR last weekend..Dukes was only given the ball 10 times. Yes a kid going to Penn St.only had 10 carries. So lets stop with the stud defense talk. The coach on IR is a complete moron and helped BH in that victory. If Cas had Dukes, do you think he would revise his game plan…NO!

Nyack wins this game with speed and toughness. So when it happens I hope all you BH ass kissers get 300 posts from 10960!

  71. Upstate Fan

    Football Giant,

I’m just curious…..Have you seen Burnt Hills play? If so can you tell me where Nyack has an advantage on them.

I’m trying to find out some info on the Nyack team from people who watch them play every week. I’m not asking because I think one team is better than the other because they’re obviously both good teams…..I’m just trying to find out what BH is up against this Friday.

If you have any questions on BH let me know.

Oh and Dukes had 140 yards on 17 carries. He also fumbled twice when he took two hard shots from the BH LB’s.

  72. down town

It was Mcghee how turned it over. but it wasnt his fault. get off him for godsake. He was a sophmore playing in a class aa state semi final game which he was hit blindly from the side. some people are so ignorant and inconsiderate. Almost all of you never even got to dietz so stop playing the players who actually got it done

  73. yeti

people are picking against nyack because they can see a replay of ossining-lansingburgh happening. They see a better, more physical team taking out a good nyack team. I would not be surprised if nyack lost like 31-14 or something close to that. As for MW-New Ro. Its gotta be New ro, MW is not the same team they were last year.

  76. CROOOTTTTOOONNNN

went up to the game on saturday to watch saranac play after i watched crotons the previous day, and it was a good game but i personally feel that the better team lost. i feel watervliet was bigger stronger and more balanced and it was because of poor coaching that they lost hte game. im saying croton takes it 35-21

  77. Coach Darlos

I need a helicopter to get from my Nephews 12noon Championship game in Brooklyn then to the Iona Championship game 4pm in Long Island and then to the New Ro – Monroe Game in Kingston 8pm, Go Westchester football. You guys are doing big things.

Saturday night our football season is over for our family. I will miss this season.

Can get any sponsors, I would love to see all games on Saturday, LOL

  78. WingtGuy

    Upstate fan,

Nyack has a strong defense especially against the run. Solid D line that is lead by their ends Fede and Mancini.

Smart and aggressive linebackers. Cornerbacks that play the run extremely well. No one has really run consistently on them all year. Ossining did in the first game for a quarter.

Weakness was the secondary and pass defense, but that part of their game has improved throughout the season. They have one very good cover corner and one that has really stepped up his game in the playoffs. They have been somewhat of stop the run and bend but don’t break in the passing game.

The secondary has stepped up the last couple games. The stats from the Cornwall game don’t look great but that is because of the Cornwall QB. He is phenomonal.

Offensely they run the ball. Inside power running and outside speed. Davis, Leonard, Johnson and Nichols are their backfield. All strong runners and a couple of them have very good speed.

Offensive line works well together, QB has been running the offense very well the last 4 weeks.

Long time consuming drives with power running.

You can find out more information by reading back through some of the blog archives. Most of us try to stay reasonable in our assessments, but we are all fans.

    How about Burnt Hills?

my only team still playing is Cardinal Spellman for the Class A title Saturday Morning 10am in Uniondale, LI.

I am expecting a big big crowd at that game. I will be leaving early to beat the traffic across the bridge.

  81. rocket

    NewRo Dynasty,

New Ro beat only once. That was in 2004. The score was 42-0 or 42-7. But the year before, New Ro won on a lucky call. Sorry to say that but anybody who remembers that game in 2003 will be able to tell you. In 2003 New Ro beat Newburgh. Newburgh WR crossed the pylon I believe when the score was tied. Ray Rice made the tackle, one ref said he scored and the other said he didnt. Everyone on the sidelines scored. Ask Ray Rice about that game, he’ll tell you, New Ro was lucky to get that call. Although they were most def an awesome team. But that Newburgh team was very, very good. They had a handful of guys on the all-state team that year too.

As for MW being down this year. Most of the Westchester people on this blog have probably only seen MW play Newburgh on the MSG game of the week. I highly doubt anyone has seen them live. They are very good. The scores may not be as ‘convincing’ but its because Newburgh was awesome this year too. Newburgh is just as athletic if not more athletic than New Rochelle. Believe me. Newburgh is 1-1 series w/ New Ro. They beat them 19-0 back in 2005. MW may not have the same o-line, but they are way more balanced and have alot more weapons. The defense is also good still. Scalo is the best QB in new york…..ask the Sporting News.

Dont get me wrong, New Ro is most def an awesome, battle tested team, but most people saying that MW is not as good as last year is saying it based on a game they saw on MSG. And MW still looked good on MSG. The game will be close. But dont think MW won’t be prepared for New Ro. Everyone said that Cornwall wouldnt be able to handle Nyack’s speed…and we all see how lucky Nyack got out with a win. Monroe will be ready and so will New Ro. But the best player on the field will be #16 on Monroe..Danny Scalo. Good luck to both teams!

  82. Upstates GREAT!

LAYTON is the Best QB in the state, Dan Scalo and Kevin Arduino couldn’t hold Paul Layton’s jock. Paul has a rocket arm is extremely accurate with the football and doesn’t turn the ball over. He also average’s over 10 yards per rush, every 10 rushing attempts he gets over 100 yards. Can Scalo and Arduino do that?? Didn’t think so. Layton hands down best QB in the State.

  83. Upstates GREAT!

    10960,

BH is bigger, faster , stronger on offense and defense. BH has the better coaching staff and quarterback. All those factors will be too much for Nyack in this game.

  84. rocket

    Upstate,

Who in the world is Layton? I want you to go check ‘The Sporting News” Top 50 Juniors in the country out of all positions. And tell me the only New Yorker you find on there. Then come talk to me. Your opinion means 0 on a downstate forum. Thanks alot. And by the way Scalo threw for well over 1,000 yards last year and ran for more than 2,000 yards.

  85. Upstates GREAT!

1st and 10 how do I have little knowledge of football?

Hrs, Layton will be playing D-1 football somewhere he is undecided because he has so many schools looking at him.

Your all under estimating this Burnt Hills team. Just wait until Friday night at Dietz when the Good Ol Boys from Burnt Hills come down there and slap Nyack silly. LB’s Haddcock and Van Alystine are going to lay the lumber on Nyacks RBs. Nyack is just like Maginn, and their RB ended up in the hospital due to the hard hits these kids laid on him and will lay on Nyacks RBs.

    BH rolls 35-7

  92. 10960

It’s amazing how many Burnt Hills experts suddenly came out of the wood work. I’m particularly ashamed of the section 1 guys who believe that they’ve conducted extensive research by studying 3-minute youtube game clips and the Maxpreps statistics. Yea your analysis is legit guys… thanx

The truth is that you morons don’t want Nyack to win. You’d rather Nyack lose in order to have a reason to discredit Nyack the days and weeks after.

  93. Upstate Fan

    Upstate’s Great

Actually the kid they put in the hospital was a D-end and it’s actually a really scary story and definitely NOT something to brag about. He got knocked unconcious at the game and when he got home he started having seizures and had to be rushed to the hospital where he almost died.

You can read about it here:

  97. section 1 w/ some sense

    wanna talk running up states…

the upstate teams historically run it up. Maybe the coaches don’t have the same history up there, the schools are a lot further apart in some sections so maybe if you’re taking that long of a bus ride you figure why not get the most out of it ? i dont know? not a lot of numbers though so they dont have the depth to sub starters sometimes, i know that hurts them sometimes

if you look in the record books, in his day, Mike Hart scored 204 touchdowns, in 4 high school seasons, figure he played in what no more than 55-games (13-15/season, that high) that works out to what about 3.5 touchdowns a game, and they won like 40+ games in a row with him there, killed teams he rushed for 11,000 yards about little 2,750 a year, having trouble finding scores from those years but im guessing with an athlete like that putting up those numbers and won states 3 times, they were probably blowing out the competition in their league

  99. section 1 w/ some sense

    upstates great,

not a lot of D-1 players come out of NYS in general especially QB’s maybe Paulus the last, he is like NY’s last ESPN 150 guy. Ray Rice wasnt a 150 guy. So to have lots of offers sounds suspect. Although those offers could be Buffalo, Syracuse, Rutgers, Bowling Green, Ohio maybe a Miami(Ohio) or a Temple, and the problem is you guys make it sound like he is being recruited by a higher group Rutgers, UConn, Pitt, WVU, and so on….

but this just in, this guy is talking about his arm….. this just in (by simply searching on google) the kid wants to go to school as a kicker/punter… so we got a guy arguing he is a D-1 college QB prospect while he thinks he is just a kicker .. maybe i missed something but not reading all 100 posts but thats what i found, maybe someone else already did

    http://www.kicking.com/members/view.asp?id=Layton20

    note: profile updated 11/3/2008

  100. iight chill

If you want to see an awesome QB go to the next Croton game. I am not from Croton but the QB is 6-1, 210 is extremely fast and strong and has a great arm. I think he is a D1-AA player, could be wrong though…

And BTW, Nyack will win. This kid Layton may be good….Arduino was awesome

  101. Cooper Manning

Layton is not a major D-1 college prospect at QB. Maybe a 1-AA school if the scheme is right though. He is, however, a major prospect as a punter. A couple recruiting agencies have him listed as the top punter in the east.

  102. section 1 w/ some sense

    Cooper Manning ??

really ? what you down in jersey with Eli lol . Why would you be on this blog ??? im highly doubting this is cooper manning as a few are. Funny though because Cooper Manning came up in a convo the other day about him and Peyton playing together and calling their own backyard routes in the huddle that they had practiced for years. Gotta be an easy hook-up when you have one of the most gifted arms in football throwing to his brother !

  103. Rye Romps

Hudson Falls….Great name since they are going to fall right on their face. Very talented RB but when you have only one option against Rye your in trouble. THe kid won’t get 100 yards and Rye will just be too physical for them. Rye runs away with this one …Rye 35 HF 14. Back to the dome for the boys from Rye. Maybe Rye should just locked up rooms in Syracuse right now for next year.

  104. CROOOTTTTOOONNNN

how do you guys think the croton saranac lake game is going to go? im thinking croton wins 30-17

  105. CROOOTTTTOOONNNN

ps…if you are wondering about my other prediction it was because that was the only game i had seen but i saw more film and what they did against a running team and they were pretty good. have a good LB.

  106. Kevin Devaney Jr.

    Pete and Kevin,
Great to hear from you guys. Thanks for the notes about the records. I must have misread your blog, Pete. You point on a reporters ‘margin for error’ was dead on. I’ll make the corrections.

I posted a link to Pete Tobey’s football blog on the Glens Falls Post-Star site. It’s a good read.

For those of you who don’t know, Kevin Whitaker is an independent blogger, “Fan in motion” for the Albany Times Union site. It’s worth checking out: http://blogs.timesunion.com/whitaker/

James Allen, reporter for the Albany Times-Union, also does a great job in Section 2: http://blogs.timesunion.com/sidelines/

  107. Cooper Manning

    Section 1 w/some sense,

No, I’m not Eli and Peyton’s older brother, Cooper Manning. I’m actually Layton’s older brother. My buddies gave me this nickname last year because of Paul and it stuck. I live down in SC working for GE so blogs like these are a way to keep me connected to home and stay current on NY football. I was able to make it up for three games this season and looking forward to a great game between two teams that deserve to be here! Good luck to both Nyack and Burnt Hills, it’s going to be a great game!

  108. 10960

Is it my computer… or did my post finally come up hours later

  109. Upstate Great!!

    Section 1 with some sense,

First things first, I said Layton was a great QB (which he is) I said he will go D-1 A,AA whatever (he will, he’s that good on and off the field) I did not say however he will go as a QB. The kid is a great all around athlete and young man, any college will be lucky to get his services.

Second of all, the running up the score thing. What do you want them to do, drive to the 1 yard line and start taking knees so the other team doesn’t feel bad? It is a football game, and the coaches in section 2 have class. If they are up by a few scores the starters come out. It’s not BH’s fault the other teams 1st string D can’t stop BH’s or other teams 3rd string O. Burnt Hills didn’t have the starters play past halftime in 8 of 11 wins. Maybe the teams upstate just have more prolific offense’s then their downstate counter parts.

This is Burnt Hills time to win a State Championship, and it starts Friday night with a win at Dietz stadium against Nyack. Let’s Go SPARTANS!

    Mr. Devaney,

Not only are those 2 links the same…. The Blogs are boring. I think I’ll stick to Lohud. LOL

  111. NewRo's Dynasty

    Rocket- Your wrong
in 2000 New Rochelle beat MW
2004 they played again and New Ro won….look it up my friend

  112. NewRo's Dynasty

But i do agree with you rocket that let the best team win. Hopefully the little rivalry that has ensued between these two teams doesnt not stop
If I am wrong about the dates then i do apologize.

  113. Kevin Devaney Jr.

    10960,
Dammit, you’re right, they are the same. I fixed it.

Any chance you want to grab a cup of coffee before the Nyack game on Friday night? My treat. I owe you for the hundreds of comments you’ve posted here the last three years. If you’d rather remain anonymous, I understand.

By the way, your comments were going into the spam folder for some reason before. Not sure why but I fixed it.

  114. section 1 w/ some sense

    upstate great

first things first, i said upstate teams not burnt hills, get over yourself for a second.
second things second, you calling Layton the best QB in the state over a highly recruited Scalo makes me think you’re talking about his future as a QB, as far as i can tell i was the first to bring up his punting and his brother confirmed it.

third, with the running up the score stuff, its just numbers the upstate teams always seem to have these lob-sided scores. For all we know my example of Onondaga maybe Hart was getting 3/4 TDs in the first half, the kid was a beast, even in the Big Ten when Big Ten meant something.

fourth, more prolific offense ? just in stats, think of the weapons these hudson valley teams have, the speed weapons, the competition between teams making teams strong, more scouting, makes for better defense, im thinking that they do much less scouting upstate when teams you play against could be an hour+ away week in week out, when down here they are 10 mins at times. The upstate boys prob benefit from defenses not having enough understanding of what they were going up against. Nyack had plenty of film to stop Cornwall im sure and that might have been what kept Arduino from pulling away in that game, it didnt have to come down to that last couple plays, Cornwall couldnt put together consecutive drives

  115. section 1 w/ some sense

Hey on a more positive note. from what i’ve seen, we have never had more than 2 state champs in one year of of Section 1, had two plenty times but never 3, could this be the year for 3??

Kevin, 10960, Joe the plumber, wing T guy, your thoughts ??

New Ro, Nyack, Rye, Croton, Tuckahoe, not crazy to think 3 , with Acquinas out, anyone can win A this year, everyone is good, who stays hot, is the New Ro/MW winner the fav? or Orchard Park? How long can Croton stay hot? who stops Rye?

    section 1 w/ some sense

In our most celebrated classes…. Class A and Double AA.
The picture is not as clear. Nyack and New Ro really have to Fight to get to the dome, let alone win the whole thing. I think if both these teams can make it out, the ring is theirs for the taking.

As far as B,C and D…... Rye Has a very good chance. The whole thing is in their favor. Croton should be able to make it to the big dance, However… Section 4’s Elmira Notre Dame is historically Dangerous and Looking to take the Ring…. They get alot of praise on Syracuse.com from members of multiple sections.

I think Tuckaho takes it all though. The QB has a Cannon. That’s a Major Championship program they have in Tackaho. They have a very big chance despite having the most unpretty record.

    Thats how I see it.

    Mr. Devaney,

That may do, However; I’m not too big on caffein. I’m sure I’ll run into you some time. Thats If I can find ya during the game. I’m not even sure if I’ll make it to this one but if I do… It’s a go. I must remain annonymous though, The 10960 name is still a Nyack mystery that I must say people are a little too interested in finding out LOL. I think if I’m discoverd, it’ll make CNN headlines LOL.

  117. Jeff

On ESPN radio in Albany Layton was refered to as the Best player in Section 2. Burnt Hills also has the best defensive player in Section 2 in Conner Haddcock (LB) as noted at timesunion.com

Mr. Devaney, how do you think this Nyack team stacks up against Burnt Hills who is coming off a convincing win against Indian River?

  118. Fantasy FB

this BH will beat Nyack i’ve said it all week. Gas is just to expensive for the indians

  119. Fantasy FB

    9/5 at Scotia No W 55-0
    9/12 vs Lansingburgh No W 60-14
    9/19 at Gloversville Yes W 45-0
    9/26 vs Amsterdam Yes W 40-0
    10/4 vs Glens Falls No W 48-7
10/11 at South Glens Falls Yes W 56-0
    10/18 at Queensbury Yes W 42-6
    10/24 vs Averill Park No W 56-6
    10/31 vs Troy No W 35-20
    11/8 at Bishop Maginn No W 19-0
    11/14 at Indian River No W 35-12

  120. Joe Nyack

Wow, those are some pretty gaudy numbers. Burnt Hills scored over 40 in 8 out of 11 games and shut out Maginn in the Section 2 Superbowl. Nyack has only scored 40 four times this year. Burnt Hills last 3 wins are very convincing wins too, Nyack has just squeaked by and probably wouldn’t be here if the ref kept his flag in his pocket on that TD run that got called back at the end of the game. I watched some tape on BH and they do a great job of moving the football while stopping the other team. They hit extremely hard and cause a lot of turnovers I don’t see how Nyack can win this game. It was a good run but this team from Section 2 is just to good.

  121. WingtGuy

    Joe Nyack aka Fantasy FB,

We got your point. You think Nyack is going to lose on Friday.

We will find out in a couple days.

Scores and Youtube highlight videos really don’t mean much at this point in the season. There are no common opponents and the videos are highlights.

    Good luck to both teams.

  122. GoNewRo

    Rocket,

NewRoDynasty is right. New Rochelle beat Monroe-Woodbury in the state quarterfinals in November 2000. New Rochelle had Jason Quarterman at QB, Anthony Rice at RB, Alex Shafiro at DT and others. The following Friday night New Rochelle beat a good Troy team on a last minute field goal by Samagia. New Rochelle lost the following Sunday at the Dome to Jamestown. Then of course in 2004 with Ray Rice and company, New Rochelle beat M-W for the second time.

  123. WingTGuy

    10960

If you need a ride let me know. I am leaving at 6 on Friday.

    Joe Nyack aka FB Fantasy,

We got your point. You think Nyack is going to lose.

Scores and youtube videos don’t really give us much information at this point in the season. No common opponents and highlight videos.

  124. POWER HOUSE

IT’LL BE TOUGH FOR NYACK BUT I THINK THEY CAN DO IT. I KNOW NEW ROCHELLE CAN DO IT. NOT SURE ABOUT TUCKAHO. ALSO NOT SURE ABOUT CROTON. RYE IS ALWAYS A LOCK, THEY HAVE IT EASY.

  125. 10960

    Wing T Guy,

Thanks for the offer. It has to do more with me being scheduled to work though.

  126. 7 String Bass

There is obviously a lot to know regarding this. We think you created good points additionally.
