  1. PacMan

Justin Autera is a god damn monster! He hit a kid so hard during the Ramapo game, the kid just laid there sobbing. That’s the truth. I hope he gets 50 carries against New Rochelle.

  2. T-Man

    RN over Westlake

  3. center

Justin Autera is good but so is the New Rochelle defense, especially against the run. Should be a great game.

  4. TESTS

NYS SAT EXAMS morning of most of these games hope schools and coaches thought of that before they set the time for the games

  5. Sect1Championships

I know the Section Championship Games are next weekend, November 7-9, does anyone know what classes are playing what day, and the times?

  6. yessir

they shouldnt even play the class b playoffs…its obvious rye is going to win…pleasantville is horrible and their second best

  7. westlake wildcat

Westlake has home field advantage, thats big in a playoff game. The team looked great saturday.

    GO WILDCATS!!

  8. go football

yessir, you’re an idiot. Pleasantville and bryam can both give rye a good game. Both teams are very talented and can play with rye

  9. wolfie

    IMHO

    AA JJEF 27-17

New Rochelle 28-21 Final JJEF 21-14

    A Somers 27-13

    Ossining 34-15 Final Somers 20-13

    B Rye 33- 13

Byram Hills 20-14 Final Rye 24-7

    C Dobbs 14-6

Rye Neck 27-14 Final Rye neck 14-7

  10. jim

Byram Hills and Pleasantville are both good teams and either will be a tough test for Rye. As I said last week…BEWARE OF NANUET….this is a team that has done nothing but improve since their 35-12 loss to Rye six weeks ago. This team has players that had back to back undefeated JV teams including wins over Rye..they already know how to win, they are always well coached by Rich Conklin, and they could prove to be a very dangerous foe for the Garnets come Saturday night.

I see Byram Hills winning a very close, hard fought, low scoring match-up with P’ville…call it 14-7.

Despite the challenge…I can’t quite bring myself to pick against Rye in this spot…they should prevail, but it won’t be easy…call it 21-0.
In the final Rye beats BH 28-7

I also like Somers 35-0 over Nyack and Ossining 34-12 this week with Somers taking the feature game of the year 20-14 in Mahopac before a huge crowd next week. Nyack is beat up and quite frankly was not impressive against Harrison last week. Ossining may have more speed and talent than Somers, but I just get the feeling this is the Tuskers year.

Dobbs should have a fairly easy win 22-8, but Westlake has a shot to tip the apple cart aginst Rye Neck at home…Rye Neck losses a heartbreaker 14-12. Dobbs takes Class C again this year tripping up the Wildcats 24-13.

In AA, I’m going with NewRo over Mahopac 20-14 and John Jay 32-14. There’s a new sheriff in town as JJ beats NR in the final 27-22.

    D….Tuckahoe 42-6.

  11. A Fan

Well aren’t we glad that games are not decided by your feelings. Ossining edges Somers in Mahopac. For the very reason you state, speed and talent…. your feelings notwithstanding.

  12. ORANGE&BLACK

could dobbs actually lose to Nick Mainiero on saturday?

  13. joesph

Nick mainero only scores touchdowns in scrub time!

  14. 3XCOY

    Jim,

Great prediction on the RN vs. Westlake game(yea right). I guess you assume the RN kicker who has missed only 3 xpoints all year will miss two in one game. But, then again you are making a prediction on a game where you havn’t seen either team play!

  15. c-watch

wolfie – i like the way you think. jim, not gonna happen that way. RYE NECK all the way.

  16. Jim

3XCOY…TD,PAT,FG+ safety= 12…...4 FG’s=12….If the 1st extra point is no good, they go for two and not make it=12
Basically I’m predicting a close win for Westlake….if you don’t criticize my predictions…I won’t criticize yours.
PS…I’ve seen Rye Neck play but not Westlake…Has anyone besides possibly Kevin seen all 18 teams still alive in the playoffs? If I called it 14-12 the other way would you have even posted?

  17. football fan

A FAN HOW DO YOU FIGURE OSSINING HAS MORE TALENT THAN SOMERS, EXPLAIN COMPARE POSITIONS. I DONT SEE AN ADVANTAGE AT ANY SPOT.

  18. flame-retardant

Jim is showing signs of smoke inhalation. LMAO

  19. Blackhat Fan

Dobbs beat RN – once. 13-0. RN beat Westlake. 17-0. Westlake beat Croton. 28-13.
We look forward to going to Westlake on Saturday.
Dobbs will get a game out of Croton but should pull it out.

One game at a time. Go Blackhats.

  20. Bobcats

    Jim,

come on do you really think Bh only wins by 7. YOur talking about a Pville team that still thinks being down 21-0 in the 3rd qtr agains Rye was a strong performance. BH has improved each week and will have fun ending Pville season on their “Grass/Swamp” field. Come on what real program still has grass.

  21. Dr E

Bobcats, really?? You pick on the grass?? Wow that hurts. That’s the way football is supposed to be played! Dirt and mud! Are you afraid to get your uniform dirty?

Just for the record, the score was 21 – 7 after three, wasn’t that the same as your game.

  22. A Fan

Jim said it. I’m just agreeing with him.

  23. naldrhs1985

hey jim I have to agree with you about nanuet as you I would never pick against rye but they will play us tough may be something similar to the 2006 title game against pelham but 3tds better seems about right.buy the way we talked at halftime at the jv rye harrison game

  24. Anonymous

John Jay East Fishkill still has grass.

  27. Riverindian

    Football Fan,

You don’t see an advantage at any spot? You must be from Ossining trying to provoke a discussion.

This is the way RIVERINDIAN sees it:
    SOMERS gets Lombardo over Brundage.

It’s a draw between Lacetti and Deanna.

Drinks wins split end and kick returns.

Ridenhuaer get’s a narrow edge at the other running back position.

It’s not even close at qb. Kreamer is the best in all of CLASS A and maybe in the section.

This doesn’t mean Somers will lose. If they stick to pounding Lombardo with an occasional outside run to Deanna to keep Ossining’s offense off the field, and if they don’t kick to Drinks and shade their safty for double coverage on him, and if Ricci goes into a run only offense as he did last year vs. Somers the Tuskers win.

If Demat. gets cute or starts getting advice from the handful of his disciples that were on his sideline for last years Ossining game he loses for the 4th time against Ricci aka MICKEY MOUSE.

    HOW DO YOU SEE IT?

we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves somers must still play nyack first.

  28. BIG JOE

it appears that KEVINS PICKS at the beginning of the season are coming true with the two undefeated teams facing each other and this final game will be determined ” WHO HAS THE BETTER COACH” although after seeing both sommers and ossining play AND MY CHOICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN OSSINING sommers does have , in my opinion , the better coaching staff with the most experience SOOOO, THERE COULD BE AN UPSET AND SOMMERS DOES HAVE A GOOD CHANCE— it will be ” the way the ball bounces”, EITHER WAY , BOTH TEAMS WILL REPRESENT SECTION 1 WELL AND BOTH FANS SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF THEIR TEAMS ITS A MUST SEE GAME , AND I WILL BE THERE I SOULD WEAR A SHIRT WITH “BIGJOE ” on the back

  29. Steve Smith

Why the change of time for the RYE game. I spoke to someone extremely close to the team and they really wanted the night game, I guess Nanuet would go for it. Most likely thought too much of a home field advantage for Rye

  30. ChiefWildEagle

    Riverindian said it best.
Big Joe, it is Somers, one M. And yes wear something distinctive, he all need to know who is BIG JOE.

TO ORANGE&BLACK: This time next week you name will be: BLACK&BLUE.

Should Somers beat Nyack,Somers should only be allowed to have coaches hired by their district on the sideline and in the booth.
I guess Ronnie and Johnny and Billy and Donnie and Tonys Jr I and II and Connolly etc etc etc should have to find seats next to ManInTheStands and BIGJOE.

  31. Section 1 w/ some sense

for all the arguing on here none of this will ever decide a game…

i will humor those comparing ossining and somers but like others have said there are two games to be one before that. Yorktown and Nyack arent short on motivation if they see any of this stuff

Ossining and Somers are loaded with weapons

Somers has Lombardo, Deinna, Hass, Marasco, and Zmuidins ( and Tullgreen if you want to count a K, he does some things returning but Marasco is the better returner)

Ossining has Brundage, Kraemer, Lacetti, Drinks, Ward, Lucky, Johnson, Ridenhour and Anthony isnt the PAT machine but has kicked a 46

its been said by more than just myself that the Somers starters play a lot of mins. Its been said by plenty of the Ossining crew that the starters are out at the half with their schedule and if you look at box scores its true you will see scores by guys not mentioned above

Lacetti is 10 yards from being somers best receiver when he is RB in Ossining avg. 40 yards a catch

Somers has 3 guys avg 9+ yards a carry with at least 30 carries and 3 guys over 300 yds rushing. Ossining only has 1 while Lacetti only has 273… Somers has 6 guys the gave the ball enough to rack up 100yds rushing in a season, Ossining has 9

Ossining had 6 guys with multi-TD’s score 37 of 41 TDs , Somers had 6 guys too, they got 44 of 53 TDs

Lombardo has 16tds total , Brundage has 16… Lombardo 42 tackles, Brundage 38

Somers has 8, ossining has 7 guys with about 25 tackles which would give them about 3 a game (meaning they get involved on D)

Somers has racked up 8 sacks and 11 INT’s Ossining 13 sacks and 19 INT’s might be the only 1 sided stat so far

so what have we learned, these teams are as even matched as last year (when they played the section 1 class A championship a week early)
I hope all goes well in class A and they square off in a true section 1 championship this year.

to me everything points to a close game. Ossining appears to have a speed advantage and with that a larger threat of the big play. who would have thought ??

In a close game i take the proven team (last years champs and playoff savvy team, and the team who has made 5 FG’s (Anthony-Ossining) not 1 (Tullgren-Somers) if it comes down to a FG i like the kid’s chances better

  32. Bobcats

Can anyone please tell me when was the last time Pville won a sectional title? I am going to guess it was 1993. Wow that is 15 years and will be 16 years and counting after the bobcats push them off the line of scrimmage. BH just too strong for the Panthers. BH 28 Pville 3. So funny how Pville think they have done well and they haven;t won a title in over 16 years….What a joke of a team

  33. Terrible

Brutal how they changed that Rye game. You were going to be able to watch boh games in Class B and now you have to choose. Although both will be blowouts, I am guessing Pville will only lose by 21 or 28 pts. Hey down 21-0 in Pville eyes is a good showing.

  34. JAson

Byram Hills shut up when was the last time you won a title. Pleasantvilles program is much better than yours is. MY prediction p-vill 27-21 Over Byram Hills. Rye 31-6.

  35. ChiefWildEagle

Section one w some sense: good analysis, only one thing.
Alex Anthony is not 100% on PATs but is like 38 of 41 or something like that. We is also only a sophomore.
Like you said he has a school record 46 yarder as well.

  36. on looker

not to take anything away from these kids…but brundages 16 total touch downs come on 133 carries while lombardos 16 come on 67…thats just about half…i think lombardo is the more productive back…but other wise this should be a hell of a game

  37. Panthers

Hey Bobcats, it was actually 1991 when Otis Hill played, i know that makes your point look better but when is the last time Byram has done ANYTHING, and you call yourself a real program. Pleasantville is either in the finals or semi-finals every years. They have won 6 League Championships since 2000.
For a program that has never really done anything worth noting you talk an awful lot.

Saturday is going be a great game on a sloppy Parkway Field just the way it should be this time of year. Both teams have a great deal of respect for eachother and worked out with 7 on 7’s together all summer long. I’ve seen both teams and they are very well matched. So how bout you give some respect where its due.

  38. salami sandwich

    Class AA
    JJEF 31-21
    New Rochelle 28-21

    Final JJEF 27-21

    Class A
    Somers 34-13
    Ossining 41-15

    Final Somers 21-13

    Class B
    Rye 34- 6
    Byram Hills 17-14

    Final Rye 21-6

    Class C
    Dobbs 27-0
    Westlake 20-14

    Final Dobbs 28-6

    Class D
    Final- Tuckahoe 31-7

  39. Jim

I got my regular evening call from Rye manager and legend Luke Walsh…you are absolutely a nothing in Rye if you aren’t on his speed dial list…..The man who leads the Garnets over the bridge with the G flag told me that kick-off for the Rye-Nanuet game is now 4 pm.

  40. Here we go

If harrison was 100% theyd probably get to the dome.

  41. Dr E

Hey don’t pick on Bobcats, he’s still worried about the grass and dirt.

  42. Bobcats

Listen clearly BH hasn’t been the same since Caputo left but you guys in Pville think your program is so strong when your last title was 1991? Hey I guess a title every 17 years goes right along with we did great we were down 21-0 to Rye late in the 3rd qtr. Still surprised you guys can’t do a better job on that Parkway Field since you Pville guys all do such a good job cutting my lawn each week. BH 21 Pville 7. Come on for you guys losing by 14 is almost like a win, you all will be happy

  43. shut up

lot of nonsense being talked …. Will you talk shen it’s time to play rye? Your schools are close enough man up and talk $#!Â¥ in person

  44. Dr E

Bobcats, you realy have a hangup with grass, you seem to mention it in every post. Is that beacause it will be obvious that when your standing in the sidelines late in the game with your clean white uniform that you don’t play?

  45. Dr E

and I know it should have been “you’re”

  46. Dr E

and not that it makes a difference since a loss is still a loss, but in the interest of accuracy, the final score for the Pville – Rye game was 20 – 7. And no one was happy with the loss.

  47. Hmmmmm

Someone should check on how many non-Somers coaches will be scouting for and hanging out with Somers the rest of the way out.

  48. T-Man

Rye Neck will win, Westlake had absolutley NO OFFENSE against their D. Cant win without scoring. It will be a good game though.

  49. Nyack Nation

I think that nyack’s two d ends will shut down any outside runs by somers
Lomardo is probaly the only way somers will beat nyack

THIS WILL BE THE BEST GAME OF THE SEASON BY FAR

  50. PANTHERALUM

    HEY BOBCATS,

How about you stop talking about how the grass makes you too dirty. Sorry not all of us are on wall street and can clean our uniforms with money. Do you still have a job? I would like you to pay me in check the next time I cut your grass because us in Pville work hard for a living. And we are going to do it on the football field with a nice hard fought win against your sorry white collar ***

  51. Bobcats

All kidding inside. BH offense line will control the line of scrimmage and in the end that will be the differnce in the game. The kids at BH are just stronger on both sides of the ball. Just ask Jim the team that RYe is really concerned about is BH. OF course, Nanuet is the focus this week but they do believe BH is the team they will be facing in the finals.

  52. Football Mom

Wow guys the insults are getting a little carried away – remember a lot of kids read this blog and you’re not setting ANY example – let the players do what they need to do to win and stop your cyber nonsense – would you say this stuff to someone’s face ? I don’t think so.

  53. PLAY NICE

Let’s see if UNCLE tony goes easy on his former aid in Castellano from NYACK or he puts a big number up on him to make a statement. My money is on him going easy! He’ll
need him (Castellano) next week to help game plan for Ossining.

    SOMERS 28
    NYACK 7

  54. pleasantville

Pleasantville played Rye in week one of the season. Although Rye did win, is wasnt the blowout that everyone was expexting. That was week one. both teams have grown since then so as i read these blog i dont know why you keep refering to that game. it almost like you feel that because you feel you played rye harder that you are the better team. in the end the results were the same, rye on top. Ardsley gave rye one hell of a game two weeks ago, while pleasantville dominated ardsley from the opening kickoff to the end of the fourth quarter. my point is you dont know who the better team is untill you play, or on the scores of previous games. the game will be played saturday and everyone will see who the better team is and who will have another go at rye. so by saying that Byram is going to dominate on here really means nothing..

  55. pleasantville

good luck to both teams.. it should make for a great game

  56. I miss Francocuts

It really is amazing how no one is giving Nyack a chance! I guess 10960 was right.. everyone HATES Nyack!

  57. PLAY NICE

If NYACK would have made a statement against a poor harrison team then maybe people would be giving them a chance against Somers. However a 13-7 lead going into the fourth quarter is really nothing to right home about a break
by harrison could have resulted in an upset, we know that NYACK is the better team. You cant ask for anything more u have your chance to make a statement against Somers make the most of it, or you’ll become another victim of playing
teams that weren’t really that good this year and to that
you can’t complain. Besides ossining NYACK hasn’t been in a game yet! U can only play those teams on your schedule so go out and make it happen and then you’ll get your respect!

  58. Another Fan

All this blog is, is a bunch of 16 yr old kids comming on here and running there mouths for there teams, its pretty damn annoying.

I think nanuet will give rye one hell of a game but rye will pull it out 28-14

  59. Footballgiant

PLAY NICE…based on your first post do you expect anyone to take you serious? In addition, stop biting off THE DONALD!!

  60. Jeff P.

Well, I don’t think anybody “hates” Nyack (I have the utmost respect for the program); it’s just that more people seem to think this is Somers’ year. I know most people also expected Somers to beat Poughkeepsie, but I didn’t take that to mean that people “hated” PK… I see Nyack giving Somers a stiffer challenge, but Rob Lombardo looks like a man playing among boys. Good luck to all teams…

  61. WOW

The only way Somers is stopped is by putting JAX and
10960 at defensive ends this week, this way we won’t have to hear any excuses why nyack didn’t win. Then after the game look for BIG JOE to bye you two some cocktails and drown your sorrows.

  62. ManInTheStands

    PACMAN: Clean up your act.
TESTS: DUHH, give people some credit please.
Here We Go: Put the gun down and back away from it, next
step away from the keyboard and JUST GO AWAY.
MOM: Players should not be wasting their time on a blog. They should be doing school work and also be preparing for the games. I bet Lombardo is lifting as we speak.
To all the Byram Hills fans, you people sound just like the yahoos from Eastchester and Mamaroneck did a few weeks ago.
More often than not Byram Hills has been a football DOORMAT.
You have never won anything, this program has not been respected since the last Indian left Westchester. Beat P’ville and Rye and then talk. Until then stop complaining about the field and shut the F up.

    NYACK 23=SOMERS 20!!!!!!!!!

  63. Unbiased

    Pleasantville,

Yes there have been some annoying BH fans but in the end I think the predications have been in the range of BH 21-7 to 21-14. I think the fact that Pleasantville hasn;t one a big game and have lost the last 3 seminfinals at home takes away their home field advantage. I will go with the Bobcats predication BH 21- Pville 7. SHould be a great game.

  64. wrong

Pleasantville has not lost the last three years at home. They lost last year at home to Sleepy who was highly regarded as te second best team in the state, they were the underdog in that game even tho they were home, the year before that they lost at Rye who was the best team in the section and favorite to win the state but they got upset by Albany Academy. And they got upset at home by a Rye Neck team in ‘05.

  65. anonymous

how come no one is talking about the carmel, john jay game, Carmel was the only team that challenged john jay, it is going to be the best matchup this week…. I know carmel is pumped having their revenge against north rockland…...and i know that they can’t wait to play them again.

  66. anonymous

It’s going to be Carmel, over John Jay….... Upset Carmel 14 – John Jay 10

  67. Football Fan

    Dr E

You and the rest of the p’ville fans are pathetic..stop measuring yourselves by how badly you didnt get beat. You try so hard to get recognition for being 3rd best it makes me sick. Win a title or SHUT UP! Nobody cares how much you beat teams with losing records by.

  68. Dr E

Football fan, learn to read. I and most Pville bloggers have said all along that the panthers were NOT happy with the Rye loss. And what makes you think that we would be happy with 3rd?

  69. Football Fan

You say your not happy with it but cant stop talking about. Did you not post all the scores vs. common opponents for P’Ville and Byram? So whats the point to say your better or likely to win or who will ultimately get spanked by Rye?

P’ville has been an overrated non factor in class B football for quite sometime and that is not likely to change…

Learn to write! and proof read!

  70. Dr E

Yes I did in response to BYRAMS note about the Rye score. But if you took the time to have the entire post read and explained to you you would have seen:

“What does that mean? Nothing that’s why there is a game on Saturday. So stop talking about the Rye score or what happened 3 years ago and play what should be a very even and very good football game.”

yeah that sounds like I’m harping on the loss.
