New poll question

Every week I put a new poll question on the blog, which appears down the right side of the page. Normally, I let everyone vote, look at the responses but, for some reason, don’t publicize the results.
This week’s poll question is something that’s been debated here all season: Who is the best pure point guard in the area?
Notice that I used the word “pure” in the question. Tony Taylor, Alex Gulotta, and Brittain Purcelle are point guards and are fantastic players. But they’re really more like combo guards, guys who play a lot off the ball. Therefore, I didn’t include them among the choices.
I’m looking for the best at that one position; Steve Nash or Deron Williams, not Allen Iverson or Gilbert Arenas.
I’ll be interested to see who gets the most responses.

I’m not sure but I think that Kevin said that he wasn’t including Gullota for a reason..good job to the idiot that added him in there.
Brickhouse is the best to me. If I was on a team, I would want him over anyone else running my offense.
What about Louie Larizza, Port Chester?
now it’s pure…..what a joke. I say TT no matter what. He can run an offense and score…because he has to.
haha mad funny albertus fan true
kevin, you know my answer.WW mount.if you go to any mount game tell me about # 4.anyhow i hope you are wrong about NE GIANTS.
I like Lou. He’s an extremely unselfish pg always looking to set up his teammates. He’s fun to watch play and has been racking up alot of assits this year. Good job on the list Kevin.
Evan Livingston, not only is he one of the fastest in the league, he is also one of the most clutch players out there
I am partial to Brickhouse, Loe DeMello and Gulotta. Keep an eye on Valhalla freshman Dan Annunziata. I hear that Llivingston is as tough as nails and loves to take the big shot.I haven’t seen Pope play but from what I hear he is a good one.
livingston, demello, larizza and grossboard from pearl river, very underrated
Livingston.
grossbard isnt a true point guard..he’s not out there looking to pass..he wants his points
Care to give your thoughts on the previous poll Kevin?
just bc grossbard wants his points doesnt mean hes not a true pg. he can distribute the ball and does when he has to. he is easily the best pg in rockland
Albertus defeats Hastings on a halfcourt shot at the buzzer..i dont really have any specifics..my friend on the team just called me and told me
in my opinion…brickhouse is the best….if you were at the peekskill/white plains game, there was a great example of why….he is so quick and has such great court smarts….at the WP game…hes took over the game in OT…they brought in the fastest point guard on their team to slow him down, and he flies right by him…just think about it….the fastest guy on white plains is slower then brickhouse when hes dribbling…now thats speed…also he is fearless…in the jamesville-dewitt game, he went straight at the 6’10’’ center and made the game winning shot on him, despite the 14 inch height difference…
those are just a few examples, if you go to a peekskill game, you’ll see what im talking about
LINCOLN HALL 70 BRIARCLIFF 64 – FINAL
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh boy let the excuses begin…..
Briarcliff loses! All non-Bear fans unite and rejoice! Woohoo!
ATTN: once a bear always a bear and the number one bear
What do you have to say now?
No excuse, Lincoln Hall straight up was better in every way. Bears got outplayed and outcoached. In the end when i was close Bears did not deserve it. Great move by the Lincoln Hall coach in the end of the game to the Lincoln Hall crowd. Once again I’m not making excuses. Bears did not deserve this win. Lincoln Hall is a great program and simply were better. Bears are no lock for Class B champs at all.
The bears lost they played no D they needed to lose to learn to play defense now they have and wont lose again
Brickhouse for certain. Can change direction and dish like no other. Single handedly breaks a press by dribbling faster than anyone else can run. Will then stop on the dime and put the ball behind his back while all the defenders go flying by.
Before everyone says “where are all the Bear bloggers” lets just get on the record. Lincoln Hall was better tonite, they rebounded better, shot better and outhustled the Bears.
Quite frankly they wanted it just alittle more than we did!
Lets see how we respond on Friday…Very disappointing to lose when your up by 10 in your own gym…No excuses!
Congrats to Lincoln Hall on a well deserved Victory!
Tony Taylor is the best point guard. he can score when he wants, he can create for others. if his teamates could finish he would have alot more assits. N he is a very good rebounder for his position n hieght.
I like DeMello. He’s got great vision, passing, change of direction, speed and ball handling. He goes so fast his feet look like they are gliding on the floor. On top of that he is the most unselfish player you will find.
Would you consider Mickey Abbatiello and Rob Johnson off the ball guards also.
It’s not even close it’s easily Pope from Iona Prep. He can have games where he drops 25 and the next he’ll let his teammates do the work and have 10 assists. Very unselfish
the best pg is livingston of scarsdale. he is not only talented but more importantly he controls the tempo of every game and leads a team that doesnt have the physical tools of most teams he plays against. he is a smooth guard and knows how to make his team better (a point guard should make his teamates better)
i agree. pope is an extraordinary pg. great poise and court vision. also, because of his great decision making, he scores 20+ some games or dishes for 10+ assists. whatever it takes to get the W…he’ll do it
craig trabulsy most underrated point guard in scetion 1 by far he is 10 times better then demello and also 5 inches taller then him…...brickhouse is the best point guard around easily, then trabulsy no one ever talks about him but hes a hell of a basketball player
Who the hell is craig trabulsy?!? Please go preach some where else. No one cares about how tall demello or any of these kids are…the point is they are all legit point guards.
ok u come see craig trabulsy play and you will see that he is better then demello hes just a pure point guard a floor general who hits shoots when he needs to and finds his other players…...person above me come see the kenedy fox lane game tomm at kennedy at 4 15 and you will see what im talking about
JFK Player,
Your an idiot. The only player on your team that is good is Eddie O’Connell. Without him, you are nothing. No one has even heard of your point guard (whatever his name is). All the point guards Kevin listed are pure point guards and are the best. Obviously, height isn’t everything.
Lou Demello is the best TRUE pg in section 1
I am partial to DeMello he is the most fearless hard woking athelete around with great court sense, smarts and speed. Voting for DeMello because he is a senior and Brickhouse is only a sophomore. God blessed Brickhouse with athletic speed and ability that is frightening. To be fair and honest Brickhouse is probably just as hard working, fearless and actually better than DeMello but he has two more years to prove it…
demello might be the shortest point guard in scetion 1 but he is not the best at all, if you havent seen trabulsy you should watch him come to a kennedy game and you will see that kennedy has more than just ed
How nice life would be if you had not 1, not 2, but according to Panzanaro, 3 Division I players surrounding their highly touted sophomore point guard. You could put a trained elephant running the point and he would look good. I vote for the guy who does more with less. Louie Lou DeMello. Name Lakeland’s starting five. If you get past the Morris kid you must be Kevin Devaney or a Lakeland Alum.
jfk player=trabulsy, which is pathetic. just stop no1 knows who u are
nah actually im not trabulsy but if u want to think that go ahead just come watch the next kennedy game and you will see
Livingston for sure. Have you guys been watching this kid? Creates for others, creates for himself, drills 3s, clutch from the free throw line, and single-handedly makes his team go. Above that, he’s BY FAR the best defender in the section—shutting down kids twice his height.
livingston is one of the most underrated pg’s in section 1. he’s clutch. he’s quick. he’s got no real weaknesses. i played with livingston for several years. he does a lot more than one can see from the sidelines. hes got heart and he actually makes everyone around him better. hes shouldered scarsdale this year, and hes anchored them in the past. id take livingston over the rest of em.
