New podcast

January
15

Before I run out of the office to get to the Scarsdale-New Rochelle game, I wanted to give you the link to the latest podcast.

Joe Lombardi and I recorded it this afternoon. Be warned, I made a list of things to discuss, which DID NOT include anything Mount Vernon or Peekskill related, and handed it to Joe. The first topic he brought up was Mount Vernon. So please, don’t grouse to me.

Enjoy. I’ll be back later.

    Any score New Ro Scarsdale?

  2. 914

new ro won i think 65 to 60. They had a double digit half time lead, but scarsdale fought back and took the lead by one point, only to have new rochelle finish the game strong and pull out the win.

KEVIN ANY SCORE ON IONA MOUNT GAME.ALSO 10 BEST PLAYERS FROM 1950'S.HOW CAN YOU LEAVE RICHIE GUERIN MOUNT OFF.ONLY PLAYED 8 YEARS FOR KNICKS.I PLAYED AGAINST WISE & RICH FROM STEPINAC AND WITH SONNY KOHL BUT THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO RICHIE.WAS UP FOR BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME BUT MISSED.

  5. The Plain Truth

Iona Prep beat Mount St Michael easily…..29-19 at half. The score was 56-32 when I left with under 3 minutes to play and Iona was running them off the court in garbage time…Iona will beat Stepinac and Hayes in my opinion, after having seen all 3 teams play at least 2 games each…

    Mr Volo,

    1. 4 for Mt St Michael did play very well today. Unfortunately, he was the only offensive option for Mount. He is a strong powerful guard built like a running back. He can play D2 basketball for sure…I also played for Mt St Michael, but 2 decades after you did in the 70's…....Did you know that they named the gym after Richard Tricario 57'.A big sign with his name as you enter from the quadranlge….And Tricario was sitting behind the Mount team bench today as usual….

    Kevin,

I understand where you are coming from when you commended Sean Kilpatrick for skipping AAU for summer school, but the kids that you should be commending are the ones who worked hard in the beginning in order to avoid having to go to summer school. You did this with Mookie Jones last summer as well and I find it embarrassing how you can applaud committment in summer school. Maybe if you commended scholar athletes better during the regular school year, players might think twice about putting themselves in a position to go to summer school. How are these guys' grades anyway? Will they pass clearinghouse or will someone else have to take the SAT for them? Where are the values?
